Re: SS13 on Linux; Recent issues & Troubleshooting

Actually got bored of hacking and went for a win10 over KVM. It has really good perfs which is nice. Btw, while I was playing with KVM I eventually tried with win7 VM and got the same problem I were having with wine. I would think that in the end it is not a wine issue but an ie8 one. Is that KVM w...

Re: SS13 on Linux; Recent issues & Troubleshooting

Not relevant to running SS13 in wine, but VirtualBox has fixed their Direct3D driver and it works with BYOND now (albeit with some issues when resizing the viewport where you have to close and reopen DreamSeeker). You just have to install the newest guest additions, enable 3D acceleration in VM disp...

Re: official headmin election 13 pre-election thread

The fact that a single inconspicuous "slur" in the entirety of the open codebase lead to an instant wordless wipe of the entire repo PLUS the following stonewalling of any and all inquiries as to what the hell is even going on speaks more volumes about github than any cretin reporting it....

Re: combat mode feedback

In case you weren't aware, four is a bigger number than two. There were four intents (help, harm, disarm, grab). Yes, that's why I said two is worse. You are under the assumption right click will only be shoving. You will come to realize very shortly this is not the case, as we roll out more and mo...

Re: combat mode feedback

and we end up going back to the modal-like system that we wanted to avoid with combat mode Combat mode is already a modal system, just worse because it only has 2 modes. I'm not sacrificing consistency for the sake of some people who can't get used to shift+right-click. It's not about getting used ...

What was oranges' post in the thread? It's removed for peanut posting now and I remember it being funny.

Re: Anomaly Research

What's the purpose of the anomaly cap as opposed to having the difficulty of obtaining them increase until some very high (as in not possible to integrate into the meta) ceiling?

Re: A map vote, commencing soon

Fairer? Fairer for whom? Certainly not for the players. Do we really have to reiterate why the dust2 syndrome is a bad thing in every single thread about maps CS:GO tried solving the dust2 issue, but now it has a competitive map pool called Dust 2 which is literally just de_dust2 alone in the pool.

Re: CLONING REMOVAL FEEDBACK

IMO now that players have more experience with non-cloning revival and there were PRs to improve it, the PR should be un-testmerge in order to test new Medbay with cloning.

Re: CLONING REMOVAL FEEDBACK

When talking about it in deadchat or in OOC people are usually of the opinion that it's a bad change that coders are going to force on them anyway, and that being in a testmerge means that it's going to be merged in some form anyway. I, of course, did see some people say that they like the change, b...

Re: CLONING REMOVAL FEEDBACK

Guys, if it isn't clear, the whole point is that dying should be a major inconvenience and it being difficult to resolve, specially in a timely fashion, is the entire point. Let MD actually serve a purpose. Isn't the point of the PR (in the Why It's Good For The Game section) to rebalance medbay to...

Re: CLONING REMOVAL FEEDBACK

Doesn't the "we had to balance everything around cloning" argument cancel out the "cloning is unbalanced" argument?

Re: CLONING REMOVAL FEEDBACK

this isn't really an argument for anything by the way, everything in the code had zero cost other than time people were already willing to throw away on their hobby. coder time spent is valuable, and it speaks very poorly of coders who say this that this is *your* opinion of the time spent by peopl...
