TBH the only way I'd find lavaland interesting is if the station was on the lavaland z level. It would never happen for obvious reasons. But it would give security something to if Goliath's or legions occasionally breached the station.

I'd rather not see the assistant role get cut but they definitely should be clumsy or have some flat debuff that makes them fail at any task due to incompetence or lack of training. If that's not possible then removing them might sadly be the best option.

Engieborg tools are better than normal tools, but worse than power and alien tools. Mediborg surgical tools are 1:1 with standard surgery tools. In all seriousness why not just make it a "Baton Arm" or something of that sort where a securitron drops a rewired baton with a bunch of exposed cables so it has a 25% (or more) chance of shocking the user when used or turned on. Still useful in a pinch, but too unreliable to rely on.
