Re: Player Interaction with an Armed Nuke

I was a Operative during that round. While I was not omniscient of the round events, however when we secured the Nuke Disk and returned to the Syndi Ship, we found someone had bombed it to hell and back and spaced the nuke. I should stress this occurred while we were on the station, we left the nuk...

Re: Player Interaction with an Armed Nuke

Spacing the nuke is okay IF you take if from the ops while they are in the process of taking it onto the station. Sneaking into the ops ship after flying around to check all the meta locations where the ship can land and stealing the nuke off of it and spacing it is not okay. Armed? If it's not wre...

Player Interaction with an Armed Nuke

Howdy. There was a round wherein crew were attempting to space a nuke. A Trialmin has stated repeatedly in OOC chat that this is against server policy, continued to disregard debate suggesting otherwise, and disabled chat to state one final time that they were correct and that the policy stands: the...

Re: Lavaland

I honestly never even considered carrying two KA's at once. but yeah, if you are holding two KA's and try to dual wield them, I like the idea of them knocking you on your ass. You could make it about as long as a goliath tendril grab stun if you really wanted to avoid it. I just like holding an ore ...

Re: Lavaland

Please consider reverting KA's to being one-handed. At the very least, make the super and hyper accelerators one-handed so the super accelerator would actually be somewhat worth the points to buy. Honestly, them requiring both hands still does not create any conceivable difficulty; just annoyance

Re: Detectives as antags

I stand by the idea of making the Det into a Private Eye that can be hired by any member of the crew. He names a price, and they bargain with him to get the dirt on someone without doing so themselves at risk of their own lives. This would include even Security, if they needed his unique outlook and...

Re: Lavaland

I think that in general the mob spawn rate needs to be ticked down a bit. Old Mining had the same mob spawn rate afaik, but it did not have mobs from necropolis tendrils, and it had no lava, which meant fewer open spaces, and therefore fewer places for mobs to spawn and wander from. As-is I feel li...

Duke quit because he almost got sued up the ass by Games Workshop after one of the employees accidentally mentioned it in earshot of a higher-up manager and basically had the choice to tell the manager all about it or lose his job. Didn't want a scare like that again, I believe. That's why it was r...

Re: Lavaland

Noice. Sentient Minebots could probably use a bit of an overhaul. I know you played as mine at one point, so you probably remember, and I haven't played one personally yet, but this is what I've gathered from others playing as them: Minebots do not have mesons or scanner vision, therefore unable to ...

Re: Lavaland

It'd be a nice little feature if you could change the GPS name of the new survival shelters. I tried and it was stuck at COM0; it'd be neat to name them so if a couple of miners needed to meet up for a tendril hunting party, they could just say the name of a designated shelter and show up there no p...

Re: Lavaland

Ash storms could use a longer build-up period- as is I've had a couple deaths when an ash storm sprung up while I was trying to assault a necropolis tendril, and it simply wasn't feasible to escape the mobs and set up a bluespace shelter at the same time (mainly because Watchers/basilisks.) Speakin...

Re: Detectives as antags

I did once make an outline of a security overhaul that was to make the HoS less over burdened with commanding his officers by introducing Detective Sergeants under him. So the CoC would've been: HoS Warden Sergeants (x2) Two teams of two or three officers directly commanded by their relevant sergea...

Re: Detectives as antags

tfw detectives are actually veteran officers if you want the detective to be a contracted, outside force somewhat separate from security a la lawyer, change his job name to Private Investigator. The tropes people associate with the Detective actually fit the idea of a P.I. more anyway, may as well g...

Re: Lavaland

All of my yes. Those shelters look absolutely amazing. Also, my spelunking is occasionally hampered by the random generation of lava rivers. Perhaps a mining item that would allow you to set up a heatproof 3x1 or 3x3 bridge? That's how wide the rivers all are, as far as I know. Could probably charge...

Re: Ripley Kinetic Accelerator

Ripleys are immune to ash storms now, but i do believe they require the accelerator to remain relevant in Lavaland. If you try to fight a Legion on lavaland with a ripley, you will get torn apart. They move about the same speed as you do, their nature as cowards means you can never drill them, you d...

Re: Lavaland

The proposed new outpost should just drop the smeltery completely in my opinion unless it's going to include an ORM. Miners only get credit for their ores if they take it to the ORM, so even having a smeltery on the outpost without an ORM is pointless. At best, they can mint coins so they can get ci...

Re: Lavaland

Additional suggestion, maybe a more accommodating infirmary could be added somewhere like the old mining outpost had. There seem to be a total of zero burn medical kits, which you would assume would be stocked on a mining outpost on a lava planet. The ointment just doesn't cut it on the fly; it'd be...

Re: Lavaland

Goliath plates cannot be used to reinforce your explorer hood, which is typically beneficial to an antag miner back when they had the hardsuits. Dunno if reinforcing the suit also reinforces the hood or if it's a feature that you can't reinforce the hood, but figured I'd lay it out. Could give golia...
