Re: Box Removal Discussion

Boxstation was designed to be frail, to be exposed to sabotage and problematic chokepoints that could remove a lot of access if they were blown up or walled off. That's on purpose, that's the design theory. Many older maps were made this way because in the early days malevolent design played a large...

Absolutely not, TGui is a slow loading mess that only a half dozen or so people know how to compile and a long gone original dev. We should be obsoleting it, not embracing it.

Re: Race Specific Clothing

There is a system I highly discourage using for making sprites look different on specific races (look at boxing shorts) but nothing that locks clothing to a race.

I really discourage that kind of mechanic though.

Some people say it is, others say it's not. Some are espousing harmony, others are claiming conquest. I'm just defending against the worst case here, which is "radicial change in which the soul of SS13 is lost to an unproven idea". Whoever said this topic was way too early was right. ¯\_(ツ...

Re: Implementation (Now with 100% more democracy)

I feel like a group of coders/admins/players have collectively burnt out to various degrees and rather than face the reality that it might be time to take a break have decided that it's the game that is the problem instead. SS13 is a good game. There is nothing critically wrong with its base premise...

The moment planetstation (PS) mechanics becomes completely incompatible with space station 13 mechanics is the moment it needs to "move out of the house" and be its own codebase. With careful planning you could probably put off that reckoning forever and keep PS "in house". This ...

From what I get it's an external tool. A spriter makes the male on mob sprite, runs the tool as a separate program to generate a female on mob, tweaks it if needed and adds it to the dmi, then submits the pr. Valid arguments against forced 3/4ths perspective (a work in progress) 1. It's terrible at showing depth. All you get is that wacky area at the top of the sprite. There's no context for thickness over the length of the sprite, meaning it only works on things that have a consistent thickness over the...
