Re: The Eternal 'Port Baymed' Thread

Honestly the only thing medbay needs is the new chemistry and some kind of stolen version of bay medical. Injuries that actually matter and are not just cured by applying a few chemicals.

I'm trying to patch up a demonstration version but RL hit me hard. Stay tuned.

Oh no Jalleo. I was thinking of making a feature freeze BEFORE the overhauls going in. That way it will be easier to track the bugs related to big overhauls

Re: New Chemistry

Well the demonstration version would be good for people compiling and actually trying it out... Attracting some attention from people outside from TGStation. And the thing is - I can't put this in unused section because it would conflict with existing files. Some of this stuff needs qdel(). The vers...

Re: Silicon policy. ick.

Yes, you bug SoS to change the config options. And please don't make PRs trying to stealthly change the default AI lawset. That stuff is in very poor taste.

Re: Silicon policy. ick.

Despite my days of headcoding being over I will stress this a thousand and more times: The person that can switch the AI laws is the server owner. Miauw gave the functionality of server owners being able to change AI laws by a config setting. AI laws are no longer hardcoded. IN OTHER WORDS: NOT A CO...

I've just played arcade mode and shot 3 Fw 190s from my B-17 because they were idiotic enough to stay on my tail and let me pick them one by one.

Re: War Thunder General

B-17 is a roulette. If you hit it in the right spot with cannons, it's easy to take down. If you have MGs? Tough luck. B-25 is a pissy little strafer and a great bomber hunter(!) against Jap, Brit and German bombers I've never had problem with Brit planes except the bombers. Spit can easily outmanoe...

Re: War Thunder General

I think this only applies to Arcade mode. In RB and above it seems not to be that much of a problem. In arcade mode piloting a fucking bomber is a death wish. In RB my B17 shot down 2 attacking planes (Fw 190 and Bf109) and managed to crash land on the airport with 3 engines out, no gear and half of...

Re: The Eternal 'Port Baymed' Thread

There is a fair bit of stuff in new chemistry that will make healing harder (OD). Toned down baymed could be a nice addition (With config values to adjust 'severity' of the injuries). The thing is - each time we tried to port baymed or dismemberment, it ended up being a runtime fuckfest.

I can't wait to try out the Twin Mustang. The major problem with Brits I've always found is that Lancaster is a fragile piece of shit in Arcade, but has amazing bombload (I think only Yer-2 tops it). Re: R&D overhaul possible basic mechanics discussion

The thing is that current R&D is not okay. The fact you can max out the research in matter of minutes if you know what you're doing and then churn out guns is a bad thing. There have been talks about overhauling R&D for years now and well something has to be done about it. Building stuff out...

Yeah that's one of the big problem with medicine in ss13 - it's just spacealin nothing else. I wish that could be expanded in the near future. We'll see once we get the ball rolling. Re: Mutantraces (help pls)

Well that's relatively simple. See the reason that if(copytext(message, 1, 2) != "*") is getting checked is whether what the mob sends is an emote. What you need is to do is check at the end of the string for such characters. Structured maybe like this if(dna.mutantrace == "robot"...

Re: New Chemistry

The thing I didn't include is better handling input/output but
A) That would require additional computing power on process
B) Complicated math

Anyway... I'll try to put a semi workable code on my Github soon for you guys to play with. This is pretty much process() from it.

Re: New Chemistry

I'd also like to add that you could have the reactor loadable with an /obj/s and with certain conditions have those /obj/s be converted into some other objs at expense of the gases. A smart coder should already know how to do this.

For further reference - reactions in gaseous phase: I heard a lot of people wanting gas reactions. It's doable as long as you add more gases (and eat more resources). The thing that is sill unfinished were the carbon based stuff from CO2 converter which would be stuff like naphtalene, fullerens, graphene, soft carbon, graphite, phenols. Output would've been controllable by reaction temperature and catalyst (Researchable by R&D). In the long run fullerens woul...
