We can see how many players are connected ghosts, and apply cooldowns based on that for certain events. Some might not need this too, like space dragon carp that are essentially tasked with protecting an area.

I’m willing to bet goofs primary concern is that full on dynamic will impact families which I don’t believe is on dynamic any longer, he just hid it behind other stuff. I would be perfectly okay with a shift of current assistants mainly playing cargo or engineers to do their maint projects. The prominence of assistant maint projects is extremely overstated in this thread, as most assistants don't do anything productive at all.

In any case, your character prefs were incompatible with current. Maybe you didnt save them last you used them, or something, and they were perpetually converted but never actually corrected in your savefile.

Every department still has access to their own maintenance, and cargo techs get to keep it as well. Its not like maints will never be traveled anymore if the overflow role isnt automatically allowed in anymore.

I grabbed your savefile off bagil to try to reproduce it, and it works fine on my machine. Is this the server you were connected to? If so, there doesnt seem to be any server side issues at least, but we could also check the logs if you find a round I you were trying this on.

I dont mean this to make maints unavailable to assistants, just make them have to expend some effort getting there which is in line with the rest of the crew. Hacking isnt necessarily a problem we need to solve.
