Re: Does the detective fluff matter?

If we don't want detectives to make arrest, put them under the civilian role and remove their brig access. (Move their office again).

For each objective you complete, you get +1tc next time you traitor - if you complete all your objectives.
When you complete all your objectives (except for escape), you can press a button to add a new objective.

Re: remove golems (not literally remove i just wanted an eye catchy subject)

1-3 seems like a a simple solution. Ash walkers are fun because they storm the station with spears and bones. Every crewmember could realistically fight back against ash walkers. Golems are not fun because they destroy the station with teleport + boh or loaded mechs. You sort of need to teleport dow...

Re: About Research Directors purchasing guns at round start with their budgets.

I have some general feedback on department budgets. I don't feel like they enhance gameplay. Sharing the same budget constraint is an interesting dynamic. It creates dilemmas when two different goods are requested. It also removes some of the duties cargo would normally perform, like seeking permiss...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

I understand what the admins want to enforce. But what they do is directly contradictory to the rule itself. The rule does not even as much as hint at there being any specific conditions under which the rule can be invoked. The rule literally just says that when there's no probable cause the AI can ...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

Nowhere does the escort rule imply that you need evidenced suspicion. If the rule is meant to be interpreted like that, it should be changed to reflect that interpretation. Also, probable cause already includes pretty much anything that would qualify as 'evidenced suspicion'. Take blood, for example...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

I'm sorry for the walls of text, I felt like I needed to address all of my points, rather than cover 50% of them and leaving most of my concerns unaddressed. (and thus would need to address those points in the comments anyways). Actionb , the rules are quite clear. The AI can deny the clown access t...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

If probable cause includes 'lack of having the right to alter the AI's laws', then fair enough. We can exclude the HoP from the list. That makes rule 2.1.6.5 applicable to captains and RD's that have not yet done anything to give the AI probable cause to deny them access to the upload. This does not...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

Rule 2.1.6 does not mention 'right to access'. Nor are there any real grounds in the rules to discriminate between the HoP and the captain. (Unless you want to put that under the 'anything else that indicates the person seeking access intends redefinition of humans that would impede likelihood of or...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

-I agree that the rule has been interpreted by admins in a way that is radically different from the way I understand it. However, I think it is very clear that the rule as written should be interpreted as I understand it. If the rule should be understood as the admins do, I think the rule should be ...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

If that's the intention, the rule should be rewritten (into a suggestion) as the definition of probable cause and prior rules already lets the AI deny or grant access to the upload to the HoS, the CMO and the CE as it sees fit. 2.1.6.1: Probable cause includes ... the person not having upload access...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

TLDR: I think this: "2.1.6.5: In the absence of probable cause, you can still demand someone seeking upload access be accompanied by another trustworthy human or a cyborg." Means "The AI can demand that you're escorted into the AI upload area, even if they have no reason to suspect yo...

Re: Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

I would like to take this moment to apologise if my post seems a bit snarky. The examples I used are all quite recent and I mainly hope to use them to stress that there's a lot of confusion regarding the ruling, even from our admins. Also, I truly believe this interpretation of the rule makes the ga...

Silicon Protections 2.1.6.5 - interpretation and concerns

To me, rule 2.1.6.5 always seemed very clear. Other players voiced their interpretations of the rule and they were very different from mine (and often each other's, as well). I think the rule should be rewritten so it's very clear what it's supposed to state. The most relevant rules: -2.1.6: Any sil...

Re: Minor Feedback

Unless that was changed, I believe AI modules are science-only. But again, RnD is one of the easiest places to gain access to. There's a lot of scientists and miners with access at roundstart, and people will often let you into RnD if you ask. Even if they don't, you typically just have to break a w...

I'd like to add that shuttles that used to look nice (the ones with potted plants and racks and so on) now look quite ugly because everything gets tossed around.

Re: Minor Feedback

The idea behind this is that an upload board is utterly useless without the (reasonably expensive) law modules. Was the cost changed? Following the wiki guide, a single gold ingot is enough to print 20 freeform boards. You pretty much only need 1 freeform board and an upload console. (I know you ne...

Re: Minor Feedback

The acid requirement has been removed, but the upload board is now available to the science and engineering departments only. That is much better. I still think it should be limited more. Maybe increase the cost so it's not just glass, at least. One of the only things an asimov AI has control over ...

Re: Minor Feedback

I think it is too easy to print AI upload console boards. If the information on the wiki guide is correct, it seems like you can print these boards at all department techfabs given the proper research has been researched. One AI upload board costs 1000 glass and 20 acid. There's already a spare boar...
