This thread is for feedback on Modular Shield generators, specifically their numerical values based on the amount of effort you put into them.

You can post ideas and stuff to add to here too but like, they are intended to be able to do a lot more in the future so I mostly just want feedback on their actual stats / how large or tanky they are based on the amount of effort put into them. There is a lot of levers I have to change/mess around with their scaling and the damage they take from different sources.

I have no idea why this is considered good design. limiting it to belts + armor is horrible. You are basically unable to carry a single gun unless you sacrifice your belt. Stealthy stealing a gun is made really hard so antags are once more forced into using their uplink/antag powers instead of using what they can find on the station. Guns should just be limited to 1-2 per bag by size.

Head coders have approved a cosmetic loadouts system. Please use this thread for ideas on what kinds of things should be in them.

For reference, we will *definitely* include things like existing heterochromia and pride pin quirks, and scarves. We will *probably* add coats (I want them at least). We will *not* be adding equipment, tools, etc. We want this to be a choice of primarily fashion. Prosthetics and nearsighted, for instance, will not be moved from quirks to loadouts at this time.

I saw text to speech being talked about on discord, and I currently LOVE it. But! I have heard of people not playing because of it.
Do you like it? Why? Why not?

Personally, I love how the text to speech is like. I love that I can eavesdrop on people while hiding behind a wall. I like how you can pick a voice for your character now. It makes for fantastic funny moments when the TTS system messes up and says something in a funny way. I love how people are now typing longer (and more spell checked)...

I don't think it's controversial to say that most people don't like murderboning, and that the coders have been trying to curb murderboning as much as possible. With that in mind, I believe that there is another method of murderboning that needs fixing: virology. In a recent round (205276) a virus was able to cause a considerable amount of deaths. I think this was an example given by sticky during one of his headmin runs, basically its just a round where its made clear that rules 2 & 3 are not in effect.
I think a round where everyone piles into a voice channel to accuse each other of being valid while ooc fills the chat window would be pretty funny.
Ideally done during with forced nukeops or revs or something just so dynamic doesn't roll heretic 5 times and nothing else.

I was thinking it might be a good idea to implement a whitelist for ERT/Marine commanders, maybe even officials too. this wouldn't affect your chances of getting ERT, only which ERT role you'd be given.

I'm basing this off of a typical ERT round where players don't really operate under the commander in most cases, as its been randomly assigned and the person that got it, may not want to command, or may not even realize they were chosen to lead the team. this usually results in the ERT team splitting up...

An event ran during an icebox round, where poorly equipped felinids have to invade the station and are tasked with taking over a department and grouping up to protect themselves from the harsh weather of the icemoon, and either make negotiations with the crew to let them live alongside the crew, or fend off the security which are likely waiting for shit to go south so they can kill things.

This can happen early in the round, the felinids being sent down in drop pods after being exiled from a neighboring...

How could we escalate the tension with Revolution rounds like they are escalated by Syndicate Operatives declaring war on the station?
I would think turning the Heads of Staff into Heroes, and the Head Revs into villains. These players would have icons above their heads visible to all, and would have extra ordinary powers. And rather then Revolutionaries flashing players players would have the option to pledge loyalty to a head of staff, or a head rev. That pledge would change the alignment of the player...

Real quick way you can massively improve dynamic, headmins! Disable any antagonist that has progression mechanics from midrounds and latejoins. Dynamic rounds where all the latejoins and midrounds turn out to be progression antags end up being a wet fart. They work great when the round starts with them, let's see more of those static antagonists like lings, pirates, dragons, blobs, nukies, revs, wizards, and all the other things that are not impacted by when they join the round.

Super easy change....

Made it my goal to read more this summer. I've started by checking out old, wacky sci-fi and fantasy. I'll post my updates on whats good or not, I just had the displeasure of getting halfway through an AWFUL sci fi called Blood Music. I chose it bc it had a cool cover but... woof. Decided to toss that and start A Face in the Frost which is shaping up to be a MUCH more fun and interesting little wizard story.

Also just recently finished my first re-read of game of thrones. I fell down some crazy but...
