Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

Stun nerfs and other combat nerfs have already made revs monstrously strong. Who knew having no special gear of their own would be such an enormous benefit in nerfland on the orange continent of foam. I'm trying to figure out why people think they deserve to survive against a weapon without special...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

Completely unneeded nerf, gimps sec hard, stops leading to hilarious moments of lubing an entire deathsquid. Stuns are just the part of the game, a needed part. Without them being affective, it'll be a huge negative impact on the game if you ask me. It'll make the game more lethal alright - I'll ju...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

This is byond shit. > You shouldn't be able to fight 3v1 against equally armed people. Well, so you're literally saying that 'antagonists should never be able to go loud', which typically involves fighting several people who are armed as well as you, or will at least swarm you with solidarity that ...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

For the love of god stop gimping Security. How is this gimping security? To be honest, this makes security a less stressful job knowing that your armour can prevent your death rather than delay it. Yeah because my armor is totally going to stop me getting insta crit by a traitor with a revolver. It...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

If I had it my way a single laser or bullet hit would drop you into crit but you're all babies Yeah well I'm not implementing a shock system. That'd be stupid, who wants a system where you get shot, which induces shock and without morphine, bandages and assurances (lots and lots of hugs) you'll get...

MisterPerson wrote:The problem in the scenario is the stunprod itself. Removing them was rejected 6 months ago and would probably be rejected now.

They shouldn't be removed. They're very effective personal defense weapons (stun and run) but they shouldn't ever have cuffing capability.

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

Where is the reasoning? It seems you're advocating a change to gameplay mechanics, but you've not justified why this overhaul needs to take place. Check the spoiler for genuine scenarios where a lowly assistant could easily dispatch a HOS with a single stun. By changing this gameplay mechanic, stun...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

"Neurotoxin is an alien only stun" Keep telling yourself that. It takes ten seconds in the Bar with a bottle of morphine. What do you suggest Security do if not issued a reliable lethal weapon? This might be a good idea, but not a good idea for /tg/ considering the culture and history sur...

Re: Stun overhaul/nerf

This should come with a rule authorising lethal force on people who resist arrest. Most definitely, I wouldn't suggest buffing weapons as they are currently though. I can accept buffing laser guns to 25 damage, but even then it's a little high. If this change is tested/put in, I highly suggest admi...

Stun overhaul/nerf

This is going to be controversial, hated and very confusing for others. This is a massive stun overhaul, which "should" absolutely kill the meta-mechanic of Stun > 99 damage. It will be impossible to stun and cuff someone that is actively resisting with any ranged or stunprod based stun, a...

Re: Default Lethal Weapons for Security

Stuns need more balancing than fixing or removing. Nobody wants to get stunned and then gg no re cuff. At current meta, a stun is better than 99 damage. Aside from that, I like this suggestion; am I the only person as security to put Combat shotguns into safes in the Brig or combat shotguns at the B...

Re: MetaStation (v41F 24/07) and Mapping Guide

Concerns for the latest revision of metastation. I'm not from Bagil so please take my concerns and opinions with a pinch of salt. Re: Two controversial suggested changes

DAS and DAA viruses These viruses really exist only to serve genetics. I hear the virologists are getting lazy now that everyone rushes DAA to master genetics in minutes. To quote someone I know as a very robust virologist, "Everyone just powergames DAA into superpowers then fuck off to validh...

Re: Additional crates to Cargo

I think the main thing that is preventing cargo from getting used is that there isn't really a way to get more cargo points (except from hoarding all crates and plasma). This leads somewhat to a mentallity of BUT WHAT IF WE NEED POINTS IN THE FUTURE, instead of just ordering what you think the stat...

Re: Two controversial suggested changes

Hulks are pretty much lizards in the eyes of silicons. Beat them into near crit to dehulk them if they cause problems. After that they're a whiny meatbag again, so be careful. That's rediculous in my opinion, a change in the SE block doesn't change races. Changing the UEUI on the other hand is diff...

Re: Additional crates to Cargo

What's so special about a .38? If it's a good gun, make the crate expensive. So what if there's three in a round instead of one? Re: Two controversial suggested changes

You also have to take into account the time it takes the virologist to get to DAA (a plasma-tier symptom), the time it takes for the viro to get sneezing off of DAA (usually not long, but it's there), and the time for the disease to mature inside a monkey (DAA forces the minimum speed for maturatio...

Infinite crusher simply has to go. A fully upgraded crusher should give you the metals the item is made up of, and cheaper components give you 20% less, 30% less, etc. As for the DNA virus, get rid of the superpower one but keep the disability one. Traitor virologists need to be able to have some f...

Two controversial suggested changes

I don't have much of a history with /tg/ and I'm sure as hell foreign. I've listened to the IRC and checked on the thread, and I keep scratching my head at certain features still in the game that other tg codebases have long removed/patched. I come from a different server, with different playerbases...

It came to me that several unique items to several job roles have permanent limited amounts, which I don't quite understand. Allow people to build their own AIO grinders

After having a chat with MSO about a bug with disassembling AIO grinders (found in bar, kitchen, hydroponics, chemistry, xenobiology) and an interesting glitch that occurs afterward, we came to the conclusion that tgstation13 doesn't actually allow you to build your own AIO grinder, which would be b...
