Re: SS13 Rebuilt
Hey pubby what is your atmos system based on? Would it be faster than what we use in the current game? I was also brainstorming aboubt other ways to implement atmos. It was incompressible navier stokes loosely based on this paper except with integer math instead of floats. It's been a few months so...

Re: SS13 Rebuilt
I entertained the idea of making a SS13 remake too a few months back. I didn't get very far, but I did develop an atmospheric implementation and most of the netcode. I got sick of the project once I started adding Lua scripting, so that's where I stopped. Looking back, it was naive to think that I c...

I don't think it's possible to have well-defined escalation rules without bringing back some form of space law.

Also, I dunno if you're doing this or not, but you should run your images through an aggressive pngquant (or similar tool) before uploading. That will cut down on filesize.

I wouldn't say three tiles is far away in terms of kitchen to botany, as it allows room for the proper foyer entrance that I find to be cool. I was measuring the distance from the microwaves. You attract negative attention because of your character's name and naked blue lizard shtick. I think you'd be regarded as a pretty fun/likable player if you ditched your identity and played fully-clothed humans for awhile. You certainly wouldn't get ahelped as often.

Testing gamemodes and role assignment
How does one test gamemodes locally? I'd like to be able to spoof 20+ player populations to see if roles get assigned properly, but I can't figure out how to do that.
I noticed a "populate world" button, but mobs spawned with that button don't count as real players.

I like it! It reminds me of a sleek office building. OfficeStation13 anyone?
Not sure if I like the upper part of the bridge though - it's very hallway-esque. Maybe you could move the telecom lobby down and expand the bridge in that area?

PubbyStation is a new map in rotation on Basil and Sybil. >>MAP IMAGE<< The idea was to create a lowpop map derived from my favorite parts of Box and Meta. The design is similar to both of those maps so hopefully that makes it non-controversial and easy to learn. This thread is for feedback and comp...

Most chefs will give you the items you want when asked. If you break in instead of communicating you have to accept the chance of getting dunked. They are stunned by shutters now. Should I throw them out? No, they might try entering again. They might try calling security. They must die. I've thrown ...

I play chef regularly and have grown to despise whetstones. Earlier today I played a round where the captain barged in while I was cooking, shot me with disablers, then dragged me to the HoP office to confiscate my gear and demote me to zero access. His reason?: I used up one of the whetstones to sh...

Poor communication from security is a pretty terrible, awful thing for all parties involved. It's not fun to play security when officers go solo vigilante and ignore questions like "why is this person set to arrest?" or "should I release this person from the brig?" on the radio. ...

This can probably be closed. D&B was unbanned (from what I can tell) and I'm not riled up anymore. The previous post I made was targeted at Kor. It's pretty cynical to assume that people use adminhelps for banbaiting and it didn't feel very good to be accused of such. Actually, I think this whol...

From my perspective as the mime: I start the round as the mime and head to medbay to wave hello to people. The chemist there says she'll make me space lube if I do a dance, so I do a dance and she gives me lube. As I leave medbay I hear a bunch of people are yelling on the radio at the HoP because h...
