I don't think I've ever had a purely negative result from a secondary AI being created as the starting/"Main" AI. Worst case, eventually one AI has to try and kill the other for law reasons, but that's not really any different than any other antag-adjacent player interaction. If Malf AIs a...

Re: Fire alarms make me want to throttle someone
When I refractored firelocks, I kept as much parity as I could with how fire alarms had worked prior. And fire alarms were given cold detection some time earlier to assist with cutting down on atmos processing (IIRC). In any case, with how fast atmos is now, nearly the entire station would become an...

Re: Fire alarms make me want to throttle someone
Fire locks (which are what detect issues) don't actually trigger on fire. They specifically detect cold or hot air, and trigger on those (with a light indicating which). I guess the real root issue is that scrubbers don't scrub air based on temps, which means the air pocket in a room will be contain...

The "but don't do it too much" clause is a crutch and we apply it to too many situations. Not every repeatable action is automatically bad for the game. If someone's trying to grind a space ruin or something, we shouldn't be hanging the threat of "don't do it too much" over their...
