Policy Discussion Board Rules
When in doubt about any of these rules, ask the mods.
1.) Global Forum rules apply
2.) Familiarise yourself with the server rules before posting here;
3.) This is not the place to discuss bans requests, appeals, administrators or other players; that belongs in the FNR section
4.) This board is for discussing administrative policy and rules, including in-game server configuration; coding policies and rules are discussed in #coding-general ( ) on the /tg/station Discord .
AnturK has reworked an old policy feature that will allow you to see policy relevant to your current character in game!
By hitting the show policy button in the OOC tab you get a popup that will list out anything added to the config file itself regarding the keywords applied to your character. Here's the general idea of how it works:
Proposing a new policy (rule change)
You have an idea for a new rule/change to an existing rule and want to see it put into action. Users can comment on if they like it or not. Ultimately, the thread ends when some majority of headmins have made a ruling on putting the proposed rule into action or ignoring it.
Good example: Make catpeople valid. The thread is resolved with a unanimous headmin ruling to ignore the proposed...
Recently, I've been confused on whether or not it is allowed to ignore your team antag status and continue to just do your job.
In this thread , multiple admins encourage it.
However, this ban included punishment for it, afaik.
Rule 12 is a confusing rule, that is so bad it has to be explained to admins when they are candidated.
The current rule 12 is as follows:
12. This is a sandbox roleplaying game
The purpose of the game is to have fun roleplaying. Play-to-win gameplay that ruins the purpose of the game at the expense of others is against the rules.
I have a few problems with this, mainly in the fact 'Play-to-win Gameplay is inherently a very loose and non-defining term.
What does it even mean?
I thought we were...
During a recent round that I played on Manuel as captain I hid in a bin and waited for a nukie to open the action window to eject me from it so I could jump out and stun him. (It never happened, they fluked)
Now that I read the type baiting ruling I was wondering: should we extend the ruling to things like this?
All the way back in 2021, the Coconut/Domi/Lepi triumverate dropped the following ruling regarding solo antagonists being willingly converted to team antagonists:
Solo antags are now restricted to only being able to join conversion based antags unwillingly.
Also know as, they cant just walk up to people and ask to join or allow themselves to be converted.
(Taken from
A few things have changed since then, the largest one being that heretics cannot join the cult under any circumstances as of PR 69725 ....
It just feels kind of unintuitive and inconsistent that a borg can know full well that attacking this holoparasite will harm this human and will kill them if they continue, but still be allowed to attack the holoparasite as long as it's out.
From this headmin ruling from 2015. There's also the part about the human having to be treated if the holoparasite retreats, but I just think that to avoid confusion and add consistency, attacking a holoparasite which you know is connected to a human shouldn't be...
Right now Rule 5.2 reads as follows: Ghosting out, going AFK, suiciding, or logging off when converted to a team antagonist position can result in warnings from an admin; extending to bans for repeated behaviour from an individual. This also extends to when Command/Security mindshield implanting an individual to their side in said modes. At most within team antagonist, it is expected players to not maliciously harm their team's progress and assist if they are able to the best of their abilities.
Alright, so I feel like this is covered under rule 1, but I've been asked by a few people to post a policy discussion because they want it clarified by the headmins. Plus, I'd like a sign I can tap at when people fuck around.
I've noticed an issue a few times now with low pop servers forcing through restart votes for really lame reasons. Basil has had a few issues where the map vote will automatically roll Birdshot and players will vote for a new map, then force through a restart vote at the beginning of...
How much of the information you gain during summon ghosts can you use when you are revived? Especially considering your ghost is now visible to others and you can interact with the round as a ghost by pointing.
