Hello, tg players and other forum-goers! Did you know that March into Mapness has started? Did you know further that means you can submit a mapping pr (fixes, features, changes, whatever) and the first one you submit will get you an ANTAG TOKEN? Until april, we're having a drive to recruit people who have never contributed more into the world of mapping, presenting resources guides, and even a channel just for supporting new mappers to make it as easy as possible to become a...

Policy Discussion Board Rules
When in doubt about any of these rules, ask the mods.
1.) Global Forum rules apply
2.) Familiarise yourself with the server rules before posting here;
3.) This is not the place to discuss bans requests, appeals, administrators or other players; that belongs in the FNR section
4.) This board is for discussing administrative policy and rules, including in-game server configuration; coding policies and rules are discussed in #coding-general ( ) on the /tg/station Discord .
AnturK has reworked an old policy feature that will allow you to see policy relevant to your current character in game!
By hitting the show policy button in the OOC tab you get a popup that will list out anything added to the config file itself regarding the keywords applied to your character. Here's the general idea of how it works:
Proposing a new policy (rule change)
You have an idea for a new rule/change to an existing rule and want to see it put into action. Users can comment on if they like it or not. Ultimately, the thread ends when some majority of headmins have made a ruling on putting the proposed rule into action or ignoring it.
Good example: Make catpeople valid. The thread is resolved with a unanimous headmin ruling to ignore the proposed...
So, in Sybil round 202427 (ongoing as of the time of writing this post) do not do this , SightID2 bwoinked me for killing a CMO who purged and tried to enslave me. Actually, he did enslave me, I had to listen to any of his orders, but he never actually gave me any orders, and he didn't put in a clause saying not to harm him, so, I killed him, thus freeing myself, since he clearly intended to enslave me based on the law he uploaded, thus being an overtly hostile action towards me.
currently we have an issue report up on the repo where people are IDing paradox clones by demanding they confirm their bank account ID and then killing them if they can't
this is blatant metagaming by abusing an oversight with how paradox clones copy the target, but admins aren't acting on it and players have had to ask the coders to fix it
we all agreed that changeling MMI testing is bad and an exploit, so why can't we just blanket ban antag testing via shitty exploits/oversights like this?
I've been curious about the general stance on TC trades, especially antag trades. Is there a specific admin policy that controls what is traded? Or is really just reliant on admin willingness?
Depending on the admin it seems like you'll either be told to pound sand and asked why you even have the antag enabled if you didn't wanna play it or if you don't want to use their tools, or you'll get some unrollable antagonist or niche item.
It seems like with the argument that items that aren't in the syndicate...
Hello gamers, it has come to my attention that security is once again allowed to use contraband against solo antagonists on our beloved TG MRP servers.
Manny wasn't always like this, back in the day this policy thread mostly put an end to security using contraband against solo antags. I find this regress in our policy to be concerning, most other MRP servers do not allow their security teams to abuse contraband without a very serious threat to the station(round-ending threats usually) and I feel as if TG...
We are considering the possibility of creating a guide to add to the ban appeals forum about headmin reviews.
When its best to request them?
When not to request them?
Why to request them?
How to best request them?
Terminology like upheld, overturned, did not review.
Etc.
Every term is going to be different and we are fancying the idea of creating something that will last and serve as a guideline people can use. Clearly not every thread is going to need a headmin review or headmins weighing in...
I understand the intentions of Asimov++, but with the current state of how forcibly crew aligned most silicons Play. I feel as if default Asimov with its inherent flaws is more conductive to a good story.
After way too long in drafting and with a significant amount of time staring at words until they make sense again, I finally have a draft for the proposed new naming policy that the admin and headmin teams don't hate enough to release publicly for the community to have a look at.
This draft isn't final, and is still open to changes, but is likely pretty close to what we're looking for in the final policy. If you've got any feedback, you can post it here or/and in the policybus thread I'll be putting up...
Came around this new healing technique and want to know if its an exploit or not if it is then it should be code fixed but their dosent seem to be any issues about it it works by monkifying people which changes every cell in their body healing both brute and burn and also fixing organs but does not change chemicals within restore blood or heal toxin damage it seems pretty balanced so I don't think it is but I'm not sure
There is a lot I want to unpack here because it`s in the same group of things that got me to stop wanting to play the game so I`ll just start by listing a few things from my perspective before asking questions.
Feel free to disagree with the following, they are all from my perspective and how I see it.
1. The Xeno egg is semi rare content for scientists and sci in general where scientists can opt to negotiate / attempt to train their Xenos into being domesticated because at the end of the day while...
Heyo! I noticed in Rule 1, Precedent 3 there is talk of instant bans:
Rules still apply until the emergency escape shuttle has reached Centcom and the round-end antagonist report has appeared. When the shuttle has reached Centcom, players are free to act as per lone antagonists, detailed in Rule 4. Non-antagonist grief upon the shuttle, from spamming flashbangs for no reason to spraying space lube, can be met with instant 5 (five) minute bans or more.
It bothers me to have ban times outlined in the...
For the last year we have had assistants hold their tattered grey jumpsuits together. It's time to release the new jumpsuits to the populace by enabling rainbow jumpsuits again.
As the title says. Currently revs have free pass to murderbone anything without the R floating above them, with a weak line of don't do anything that could inconvenience your team . I propose to change it into the current security post-rev. That means that revs would be free to kill: Heads of Staff, for obvious reasons, security, and anyone mindshielded. Everyone else would be allowed only if they directly threatened the revs.
The change would allow revolutions to involve more people than the current...
Very simply I don't see a reason why singulo control is disabled in cofig anymore as our standards for admins have improved. Any admin who possesses a singulo will either have a good reason for it or wont be an admin much longer.
After both the policy bus and coderbus meetings the general consensus was TG was interested in going in a direction where heads were more meaningful/impactful to the round. I want to hear more thoughts on this, discuss.
Some food for thought:
Do we want administration to warn all heads of staff who do not show ample game knowledge? For example, a CE not knowing how to set up a basic SM setup without causing a delam, so the admin tells this player to play the station engineer role until they learn how to...
I have seen several Ahelps the past time where admins added these phrases to notes or bans where during the appeals the hostilities of those statements seemed rather....embellished.
I made to thread to discuss the issue because it seems that the pure act of disagreeing with an admin is now seen as being combative .
I would like to ask for there to be some standards for when admins describe an Ahelp as actually hostile.
This mostly applies to MRP since there's a greater emphasis on playing a reasonable character, and I'm unsure if it's seen as an issue on LRP.
So, what is this about exactly? Well, I'm not here to go out of the way to kill botanists who grab a few deathnettles or a security officer swapping their disabler for an egun. What I'm after is people dragging cannisters full of superheated plasma, a maxcap, hellfoam grenades, or any other non-antagonist accessible EORG tools onto the shuttle.
For some reason, people have been beating the drum on this for the last few days. I don't know what suddenly caused this mass consciousness shift since I hadn't heard any complaints for over the last few years, but everyone's going a bit bug-eyed over the whole player-who-wasn't-involved-in-the-incident submitting a post telling the ban appellate to request headmin review post. Ever since I became an admin, it was always assumed/presumed that the player would either petition for review or concede with the...
I caught a ban previously this year which at this time I'm not interested in appealing, and this part didn't make it into the note, but there was a tangential point raised in the ticket concerning how if you help a dragon consume non humans (under law 3 where you're being dragged by and threatened by said dragon into helping it) you are furthering human harm by allowing the dragon to heal and do further harm to the human crew.
I'm trying to square that logic with law 2 situations. Some antag gets a binary...
The new escalation policy confuses me and I'd like to open a discussion about it to get clarification.
If an arrest is not obviously valid, it follows standard escalation Non-antag players may lose any OOC and IC protections if they choose this path and should consider ahelping if they believe they did nothing to warrant being arrested.
In resisting arrest, non-antags should not loot officers and should not detain or incapacitate officers any longer than is necessary to escape or explain themselves....
This is mostly a continuation of this thread of course: But It is an actual implementable proposal instead of a general discussion and I think it is good to separate the two.
I think silicons should be exempt from rule 4, specifically the part about being able to treat antagonists like you want. Why? Because without this they will never be a third party, just validhunters with varying amounts of limitation.
Antag status is too deeply ingrained in all silicon thinking, currently even human traitors get...
This concerns the AI, Security and the Captain. And this thread is being created in response to something brought up in policy-bus on discord earlier today.
Initiating conflict is commonplace in SS13 and is usually an IC issue unless very severe. If someone attacks you, you can attack them back and etc. You shouldn't be going out of your way to destroy someones rounds unprovoked but through proper escalation this option becomes available.
However, an issue becomes present when one of the 3 above listed...
