Hello, tg players and other forum-goers! Did you know that March into Mapness has started? Did you know further that means you can submit a mapping pr (fixes, features, changes, whatever) and the first one you submit will get you an ANTAG TOKEN? Until april, we're having a drive to recruit people who have never contributed more into the world of mapping, presenting resources guides, and even a channel just for supporting new mappers to make it as easy as possible to become a...

This is a public log of changes in admin staffing. Please don't post here if it's not noting a staffing change.
Interested in joining the administration team? Contact an Admin Trainer or Head Admin either in game, on discord, or via forum PM for more information on our process.
Old log is here: (Admin Only)
EDIT: An up to date list is also kept on the wiki here:
The idea behind this board is to have a place where there are no users posting and cluttering up everything, but they can still see it.
Is there such a use for a board? Fuck if i know.
Rules are simple:
This board is for the use of forum mods, forum admins, and in game admins.
Don't post in threads clearly meant for another group you aren't apart of. You are basically a user to that regard and should pretend you have read only access.
Global mods should not be attempting to enforce rules in this...
After ten thousand years most of two headmin terms, the RP rule rewrite (started by Timber, finished by myself and then edited by the collective power of the combined admin team) is finally done, and we'll be moving to change over the RP rules to it effective basically immediately. The full text of the rewrite will be going up here and on the wiki, hopefully the new rules serve us well.
1. The roleplay servers have a higher expectation of roleplay.
The purpose of the roleplay servers is to provide a...
Overview
This board is used to offer bounties for policy issues which can best be solved with code solutions. Typically, one antag token is offered per PR even if the PR is not merged.
As long as the PR is made in good faith the effort put in will be rewarded.
Bounties
Bounties will be listed as new posts within this thread, once completed they will be crossed out.
I accidently spawned Narsie 2 days into trialminship
I spawned around 80 clusterbang fragments, thus slowing the server at round end to a halt
I recently runtimed the server by trying to make every single turf SPIN
I considered unbanning Nexendia
i thought hbl was a good admin :^)
The MRP Rules have been updated this thread covers what was specifically changed/added. Big thanks to Owegno for helping create this and the admin team for providing feedback on it.
To be clear, these rules do not apply to the main server, only to MRP ones.
Main Rule Updates
5. Antagonism, murderboning, and roleplaying as an antagonist. You're an antag, great! Try your best to play the role to drive the round forward, inserting conflict into the round is important. Your actions should make the game...
We are expanding the rules regarding the admin complaint sub-forum. While previously this forum was specifically for instances of in-game admin abuse it will now be expanded to cover forum and discord power abuse as well.
Under the old rules Forum issues should be brought up with the current managing administrator via IRC or PM. This leaves discord (our current medium of communication) out of the equation entirely, and doesn't provide a satisfying outlet for players who may have concerns...
Rule 2, precedent 5 of the rules, the no shuttle-hunting rule, has been removed on a trial period after the merge of this PR:
If this sees abuse during the trial period, we may elect to re-instate it in some form. For now, however, it is gone.
This is what the precedent read:
Station crew are currently not allowed to board or search for the syndicate shuttle during nuke op rounds, unless they specifically follow an operative or a pinpointer onto the shuttle.
It is better to adminhelp first in this...
We've had a discussion about this and decided to make mimes that talk subject to punishment by the crew for their mis-deed, functionally making them valid .
Note that you should still avoid spacing/gibbing them for this, but you may otherwise enact punishment on them as you see fit.
As with all things, please bear in mind Rule 1 when acting on this.
See below an announcement regarding part of the discord changes that have gone through today:
We've changed how administrative support works through discord!
Trial and game admins are no longer pingable. Instead there is a supportmin role that can be pinged if you need assistance with something. The same rules on pinging apply to this role as before, so please dont abuse pinging it as a joke.
In addition, a supportbus channel has been created. Supportmins can add you to it to discuss...
and waste even more of your time on a 2d tile rudimentary atmos simulator in an outdated and niche language that has had a convoluted game bolted on top of it played by online strangers by adminning on it? Fill out the form. We are evaluating some things and the form is part of that. A google address is presumably required. No addresses or names are collected.
Before being a regular admin, I found myself playing as miner quite a bit, before the lavaland update and what not. Later on I joined the team and went on. After that I seemed to enjoy security roles, deadming to play warden or HoS. After I moved around to playing atmos tech and now I stick around that mostly while in deadmin to play.
Thoughts?
Recruitment process entails one of the current head admins, game masters or admintrainers in game for temporary(per-round) selecting you and giving you admin candidate rank. As an admin candidate you are expected to observe and learn. When headmins think you are capable of handling yourself as an admin alone, you'll be given trialmin rank. Trialmins have a period of two months in which to prove that they are capable of being trusted to admin with other admins or by themselves. At the end of two months,...
ERTs ARE NOT ANTAGONISTS. THEY ARE THERE TO HELP THE STATION.
If you are selected for an ERT, you are to follow your objective and help the station.
If you are a crew member, you are not to attack or treat ERTs as antagonists or deathsquads.
We currently do not have the ability to ban people specifically from ERTs, so if you fuck up as one you'll probably just get banned for a day or two. So don't be a dick and do your job.
Rule 8. Erotic Roleplay is allowed, but some decency is expected. Keep it private. All involved players must consent. Unwelcome ERP will be punished harshly, usually with a permaban.
I've noticed obviously silly bullshit being punished extremely harsh quoting this rule. I mean, stuff to the degree of Takato making an off-color joke about humping someone and eating a perma for it, or the guy a few weeks ago that got permabanned for some idiotic line about FUCK THAT PUSSY HARD, something to that effect.
So heres a fun idea! Lets have our normal adminbus policy discussion thread, but in the public so players can see how we go about deciding things!
(This is something we have in adminbus's forum on occasion, usually accompanying one made by us or players in the policy discussion thread, its just a place to discuss the issue at hand without it spiraling out of control from too many people trying to talk at once like every policy forum thread ever has done.)
Given the new crop of headmins, what's to become of the deputy heads, namely Pandar's being Head of Robutts, Ely's being Head of Bans, and TBM's being Head of Trialmin Stuff?
This was brought up in the admin forum complaints. But I wanted to discuss this with all the admins to try and understand its purpose, whilst remaining transparent about it.
My personal opinion is that it seems to be almost the equivalent of naming and shaming. I'm really not sure how it helps in anyway, specially the few people who were initial targeted seem to do a fair amount for the game/community (IMO).
I'd like to hear what the other admins think of this.
The current wording of code blue doesn't fit our ideal of RP > Powergaming. It needlessly encourages shitcurity to run around mugging people for no reason. As it stands I felt like it is enough cause for a sec officer to justify temporarily detaining and searching ANYONE on the station.
That's kinda crap. I'd like to implement a change to the wording for the Code Blue that was originally suggested by Intigracy ages ago that goes:
ALERT_BLUE_UPTO The station has received reliable information about...
Let's continue the conversation from the Legendary Adminhelps and Prays thread I started.
I honestly can't think of anything that should be posted to this forum if that topic can't be shared. I mean, this forum is basically muting OOC and then talking.
