Because we had severe problems with managing the destructive scaling of antagonists, and people won't stop abusing all the worst combinations to cause maximum damage in the first 5 minutes of the round.

I would have preferred not to but I really don't believe we had a choice.

Then I think time gating is a way better option. You can even have TC slowly come in until the max at like 10-20 minutes.

We were trying to do the restrictions in a way taht seems less gamey and more realistic.

The idea of you progressing is what eventually ended up being.

I agree but I think the implementation is lackluster and has lacked any big fixes, redesigns, or polishing.

that doesn't mean i'm going to change my mind about the plan, just be disappointed at hte lack of effort put in.
