Secret dwarf suprise upon digging adamantium - Testmerge

The punishment for digging adamantium is waaay too harsh and disruptive to maake the dwarves or mining viable right now, its a placeholder im a aware but it should be disabled until a less in your face alternative is made.

It drops a swarmer beacon and readymade swarmer mobs, including all the special boss variants like swarmers that shoot lasers. Each swarmer drops 1 bluespace crystal which dont forget can make polycrystals and be counted properly by the orm for bluespace mesh = equalling its dropping sheets of advanced & rare ore which is unbalanced.

> Multiple rounds where adamantium by chance has been near the mining station, and miners literally CANNOT get out of the station without being harrassed.

> Dwarves can also not fight the fun stuff in the slightest (bow and arrow does nothing), and exploits such as farming the fun stuff for their mineral loot, complimentary to the 5000 points of admantium makes it extremely unbalanced if you do win this uphill battle (spoiler the fun stuff was removed previously because you couldn't win against it)

> Fun stuff actively denies terrain & ruins en-mass and eventually snowballs to be too tough for a fully equipped station to handle if burst early.

Swarmers will teleport people into pre-existing ruins so miners could use this to rush space ruins by digging randomly.

Definitely needs a revision before moving forward with the dwarf pr, before the code freeze puts everything on ice.

Yeah goof this is actually mind numbingly annoying.
I didn't know what the tirgger was, but several rounds yesterday as dorfs we got utterly raped by was effectively an unlimited swarm(heh) of swarmers just constantly attacking and eating everything.

If it only triggered after a certain amount of time (so you could actually build up a bit, rather than having a few dorfs with picks and hatchets) it would probably be fun, but every time I've encountered it, it was within 10-15 minutes or so of roundstart.

Also the 'can't dry leather' thing is happening again, send help.

This is just as bad as all it takes is one miner not getting a fucking dwarf fortress reference to unleash an unfightable hell.

doesnt stop the damn chain knockdown, the worst feature ever.

Knockdown does seem like a bit much but thematically faithless are way cooler than swarmers

You already have low atmos and tons of weapons to attack them. Sorry if you're retarded but they're not even that fast to even stay next to you if you move every so often.
