Gygaxes

Gygax leg actuators just now are... just what the fuck. You can splatter your way through virtually anything, without anyone having a chance to react. Blobs, clockcult bases, bloodcultists trying to summon, AI cores, the nuke shuttle, all nothing but a bowling alley, for the cost of power you can easily recover by running back to a charger.

Seems like it's working as intended to me.

They're rare as fuck now because of techwebs and nobody knows how to even get them anymore besides a few.

It really shouldn't go through a nuke op shuttle, though.

How long will it take before people find out the proper way to make gygaxes? Not long id wager. Leg actuators are broken unfair garbo and I hate them

You can literally one hit anything by running through it.
You turn into a doomtrain.
Fairly certain it will literally delete the nuke if you run into it.

Fun fact: Last time I checked, if you have a power relay you can use the leg actuators indefinitely even if you should have way too little power left.

Fair point. If it's clock cult then usually someone sabotages the process of making a gygax, though. It should be a tiny bit easier to sabotage now since I think ORMs are being moved directly inside cargo so it slows down progress unless the person/people doing RnD can enter cargo easily and reach the ORM. I also think no one really makes a gygax for any other antag even when it's war nuclear operatives. It does happen sometimes, though.

Speaking of CC and rnd, a tactic I've seen was get two bags of holding onto Reebe and release Lord Singuloth. I still haven't seen a singularity eat the ark, though.

Also, CPTANT, that should actually get nerfed. Infinite leg actuators suck.

Being able to go through walls is the Phazon's gimmick

What wall?

Phazon goes through the wall
Gygax lets everyone else come through the wall after it

And people still say the wall needs to be built.

I havent thought about it that way, gygax does what the phazon does but better with its kool-aid man stuff.

Phazon was supposed to be the mobility mech, where gygax was the offensive combat focused one if I recall, any ideas on how to replace the kool aid man ability with something else more attack based? Ability to use 2 mech weapons at once?

The Gygax was meant to be the "fast" mech.
The Durand the "big tough deathmachine" mech.
The Phazon was the "Holy shit it just walked through a wall and shot me to death" meme machine.

If the gygax is breaking walls like a durand/marauder then maybe that needs to be revisited.

Plus the Gygax is easier to make, the Phazon requires an anomaly core which relies upon RNG and someone being willing to signal it.

tl;dr this is what you get when you don't skip leg day

I really dont see many mechs these days (excluding neewk awps) and I probably wont see many more with these science nerfs. I allways felt them as a liability. People move so fast and the mechs move so slow when you finally catch someone they can just run away at mach 10 and gg no re you with an ion gun or spear bomb (spear bombs do randomized damage becaue ???)
