Round-start Martial Arts: Why?

Why was any of this even added in the first place? It shouldn't even need to be said but the sooner this thread is started the sooner it can be fixed/removed. Neither of these roles need martial arts at round start and there is no reason they should get it just for existing. Either give everyone the ability to choose from any number of martial arts (which could honestly maybe be fun) or remove it altogether because now I get cooks killbaiting me by randomly running up to me and knocking me unconscious in one hit at round start.

Not to mention I've yet to see any legitimate reasoning for adding round-start martial arts to any of these roles. I did see one justification from goof that watching it is, 'incredibly hilarious.' Which is odd coming from someone that rarely plays on the server anyways.

cook martial arts weren't actually supposed to be merged in the state they were in, my PR got merged today though that locks their close quarters cooking to the kitchen and bar, so no more roving security cooks

You know we locked cook cqc to the kitchen right, they can't tide with it anymore

Post your face when someone gets banned for abusing monk and goof is faced with the moral quandary of whether or not to uphold his code of trying to remove features people get banned for misusing.

I'm not even against introducing martial arts to the general crew, but don't screw with already existing roles. A Physical Trainer profession that chooses its martial art at round-start or in character creation and can level up and train apprentices like the Chaplain does. It would make so much more sense and honestly sounds like a good addition as far as jobs go. Some of this stuff is pretty OP though, needs a good deal of balancing. And leveling up should take a hell of a lot longer if we're gonna introduce that mechanic.

Coders only answers to maintainers, why would they ever concern themselves with the opinion of the server?

Sounds like a cool idea.

We'd need more martial arts since the pre-existing martial arts are either meant for traitors or has an attack that instagibs someone despite how it's kinda difficult to pull off if you don't stun them
