Example:

>BE Wizard
>Fireball a dude from wand of fireballs he gets hit point blank
>He doesnt get knocked out but I do from the aoe
>Grabs my wands of fireballs and fireballs me to death


WHY.

Actually why does fireball even knock out anyway since wizard is kind of inspired by D&D Fireballs just do fire damage

You were a victim of RNG. Explosions (Light and heavy) have a chance of knocking the victim unconscious. His roll turned out luckier than yours!

Projectile explosions are weird, sometimes they explode on the victim's tile, Often the tile next to them, and sometimes they just fuck you

Be glad the fireball button doesn't stay on any more. That was just a guarantee to fireball yourself in the face while trying to open a door.

This is entirely intended! AoE projectile spells, such a fireball, will target adjacent mobs. It was initially a holdover from the dumbfire version which also had a radius check. But, it is also amusing to see wizards blow themselves up with the fireball by using it at point blank. I like the risk involved in using this spell! The fireball will look for any excuse to explode, so please consider keeping your distance before you cast it!

Note: The blindness is due to the explosion rolling a knockdown stun on you.

I never use fireball for this reason. If I wanted to roll a dice on if the enemy dies or I do I'd just buy summon guns.
