We shouldn't even trust badmins to play midis and you want to let randos do it? Also instruments plays wavs right now so it would sound significantly worse if they played midis. Yes, even worse than now. I can see the appeal of the idea, it's just a bad one imo.

I mean, you can already convert midis to piano music but it doesn't always work out like you'd expect, sometimes it sounds just fine other times it's a garbled mess, that's what I meant.

Probably mostly midi2piano but I'm talking out my ass since I've not looked at the code for it. I expect bpm's being inexact relative to what midi2piano expects causes oddities.

honestly just using the inbuilt sound system and allowing users to upload midi files under 300 kb should be fine.
