OOC is a toss-up when they're playing Chinese telephone game, probably with people who aren't interested in giving them an honest description to begin with.

Like if you can't be bothered to just read the single sentence on the forums that clearly states what the "outside" ban actually entails, you probably aren't going to be taken seriously unless it's convenient for the other party.

okay we have a few points here you're choosing to overlook in favour of focusing on wesoda misunderstanding what oranges meant when he said no more space and lavaland content, in order to pretend that every point made is based on a misunderstanding of oranges' intent

let me summarise them for you so you can't pretend to have missed them:

1. the servers lost a lot of players last year, maybe this is a reflection on choices made regarding the codebase
2. ghost roles lack replay value (e.g. drones on the derelict, beach bum 'ruin')
3. the syndicate ship ghost role is boring
4. the syndicate ship should be movable

i'm not saying i agree with all of these but if you want to call OOC retards and dismiss their feedback then you could at least acknowledge it as it is

1. I saw 170 players on early this morning so I would be inclined to believe otherwise.

2. Yes, with the ones considered most "fun" are the ones that enable secondlife like freegolems or derelict drones when they weren't getting banned for it. It's not meant to be an equivalently "fun" experience to onstation content, it's suppose to give you SOMETHING minor to pass the time while you wait for next round if you don't want to observe or switch to another server.

3. the new one? i hear most people just try to antag with it lol.

4. i've never seen how it plays out.

I was under the impression that off-station ghostroles were meant to act as tutorial roles, so to speak. Syndicate base to teach you viro/chem and play with tator guns, Charlie to teach you how to repair a broken station, Golems/Liggers to teach you mining and construction, Podpeople to learn botany, and so on. Places to learn/experiment with mechanics without impacting the round at large.

Some of them ended up that way, but I don't think there was any overarching goal in mind with the ghost roles.
