Nerf Cigarette Lung Damage

I'd severely nerf the actual lung damage of cigarettes and instead just implement a 0.01% chance or something of lung cancer per tick smoking for both more engaging gameplay and not being annoying to do
I put one in my mouth I'm coughing within a couple minutes and straight up dying of severe lung damage if the round crosses that hour mark, it's very annoying

I'm not using it as a quirk I just have my char smoking a lot quirks are for snowflakes
but yes I'm chugging them one after the other god bless america

A moral hazard in this case would if aside from yourself you caused marginal lung damage to bystanders too when you were smoking, and thus 'moral hazard' would refer to the constant threat of being justifiably beat up by others for constant minor but annoying damage ticks from being in their proximity with this shit in your mouth

How about smoking damage is halved to the smoker, but everyone around gets full damage via secondhand smoke? Secondhand smoke is more dangerous after all.

I play with smoker and the lung damage has pretty much never impacted me once even on longer rounds. You just need to not constantly smoke. Have a cig when you need it, it makes more sense anyway.

I want a cig all the time, I don't play with smoker and the issue isn't this being a massive impact, but just boring. Reduce lung damage considerably, add a higher chance of cancer, and you have something more engaging and more flavor appropriate than your lungs dying on Manuel's green shifts if you dared smoke for 1 hour straight, which is more or less how much it takes for complete lung failure.

If you have the negative quirk and / or are playing hardcore mode, use the nicotine gum instead

But yeah the lung damage is pretty intense and should be toned down significantly

My point is more that not only would nerfing the damage significantly and adding instead a higher cancer rate per tick be better flavor-wise, it'd result in more interesting gameplay for smokers rather than ouch owie my lungies hurt.
