This continues to happen, and has been for at least several months: Whenever I pop a cigar into my character, there is a good chance that within 5 minutes he develops an addiction and gets voices in his head telling him to smoke. Ok, the problem is, they won't shut the fuck up even if I'm already smoking, and my moodlet is positively dying because it keeps craving for a smoke. I'm getting annoyed with this, because smoking cigars is a vital part of my character, and everytime I do it I have to deal with addiction problems like I'm a crack addict, it's a god damn cigar and I'm even smoking it, why does my character start twitching the fuck out and shake uncontrollably?

For one, I want to have the cigar looked into, because it gives me the addiction, but doesn't count as a smoke. Second, I want the addiction to be finetuned a bit, I can chug 10 bottles of alcohol and be fine, but a single cigar makes me an helpless addict and fucks my moodlet for half an hour.

Agree, cigars have been messy for some time now. You become an addict from just one and sometimes smoking doesn't even help your moodlet.

Either fix the code and make it reasonable or remove addiction + smoker quirk, to whoever has been touching it.

inject nicotine inside of your veins EZ, just like the rest of us who get an ody only to inject radioactive shit into people.

This idea is so absurd, that I will actually do this.

Wait, can you inject a particular brand flavoured nicotine in your veins? Cause smoker can only be countered with the random brand you're assigned roundstart.

go to a chem grinder or make one, insert your favorite cigarette brand. Grind it inject the chemical inside your veins.

works on bee, I inject that nicotine shit into my veins all the time. I grind up the chems(I main cook, chemist, and scientist)and it always works for me. Don't know bout the tg code. But you can act like your doing heroin for RP purposes.

I don't think it's physically possible to get addicted from smoking one cigar or even one pack of cigarettes. Yet in game they get you hooked instantly. Not even meth does that.
This should get a look at, as the nicotine withdrawal debuff is extremely annoying, even without the constant message spam.

Last night I tried it because my cigars kept getting knocked off outta nowhere. It works, just grind the whole pack on a beaker and grab a syringe. One single injection (5u) seems to counter the moodlet completely.
Also it shouldn't fuck up your lungs so that's a plus.

I threw out a pack last night that I picked up the other day. Almost lapsed after three years of being smoke free.

Don't know if the bug from OP was fixed but I had a lawyer round where me and co-counsel were destroying our lungs with cigars. Medbay were present and did replace them with robot lungs but the rate of damage seemed a bit steep

Cigars are super fucked I agree, I love them aesthetically but they're just not viable since smoking it for more than like 2 minutes completely destroys your lungs and leaves you fucked for the rest of the round.
No one even "inhales" cigar smoke you know, when you smoke a cigar you're not supposed to enhale it you're supposed to taste it. That's why cigar smokers don't get lung cancer they get throat or mouth cancer.
