Reinforced windows got buffed too hard.

I'm probably not the first person to make this thread.

Normal windows have 50 health and no armor

Reinforced windows have 150 health, 80% damage reduction for all thrown and melee attacks, and has a damage threshold of 11, which means it ignores damage less than 11

Having 3 times the health of a normal window, and being able to ignore blows from non-robust weapons seems completely reasonable to me, but the 80% damage reduction from melee weapons is to much. I understand the intention is to make guns and lasers more effective at shattering the window, but taking 5 times as long to destroy a window with a melee weapon vs a ranged weapon of the same force is a little ridiculous.

My proposal is to reduce the melee damage reduction to 20%, all though there is also an argument made to remove it entirely.

Reinforced Plasmaglass can stay OP because its ya' know, plasma, and not just some iron rods, although you may want to remove someone of the melee damage reduction for the sake of consistency.

Additionally, I find it a little odd that this can be circumvented by using armor piercing weapons.

Also, the last time someone tried to change windows was ATHATH 3 years ago calling for a removal of the damage threshold, rather than the armor. It was closed. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/45875.

The balance of windows has been untouched since.

It takes 8 bloody shots to laser a window down, too, of an E-gun's 12 capacity or a dedicated Laser Gun's 16. Even for ranged weapons, it takes a long-ass time to break them down.

The deconstruction process is way too long, they're too resistant to any type of damage, and when solid walls are weaker than them, something is clearly wrong (and no that's not a call for stronger normal walls, handle that separately)

An 18-second weld as the starting step followed by 25+ more second of tool application is both ridiculous and boring. If you put 7 reinforced windows in a row, which any assistant can make just by stealing some glass and metal, breaking down normal windows, etc., it requires one laser gun to break each two windows, meaning that at that count, you've got too much shit to break through with a laser gun on belt slot, a laser gun in hand, and a laser gun in modsuit holster.

It takes 25 hits with an energy sword to destroy reinforced windows, which is more than an airlock (takes 15, 22 if it is plasteel reinforced)
