Basically, any item which gives a slowdown when worn, will now give a slowdown when carried in your hands. Albeit only half of the slowdown. Tested and everything works.

In other words, the ol' "take off your hardsuit to get to the next set of solars faster then put it back on when you actually need to go into space" technique won't work anymore.

Please no. Space suits are awful as is.

I wouldn't opposed to there being a flag to make certain items inhand slow you down, but making carrying space suits and shit slow doesn't add anything to the game and just makes it unfun.
Also I'll just drag it around behind me instead.

If some chucklefuck wants to steal a space suit without the helmet they're free to try. I'll still drag it because slow down is worse, and I'll still beat them to a pulp for being a thieving shit.

Superior meta is to wrap them in wrapping paper and then storing and carrying it around easily.

I must say that I do not like this at all. Slowdown is quite annoying and boring, and I feel this is going to start a wave of nerfs to stop people working around this one (dragging the item, package wrapping the item, macro-quick-throwing the item, etc). I am still unhappy about the HG nerf to slowdown, as well.

I'm not a fan of people exploiting the fact that you can run fast with the suit in your hand, even though I do it myself sometimes.
But if you really want to solve it, just make it take a while to take the suit off.

I mean, realistically you'd be able to walk pretty fast carrying it rather than having that bulky thing weigh you down while wearing it.
So it's not that it's unrealistic to be running around with the suit, it has more to do that you can just rip that shit off your body in a split second.
I mean, it already takes longer to take a exosuit off of another person.

no please don't bully hardsuit wearers more, it's already horrible enough with hunger slowdowns and people trying to disarm me if I don't reflex put my suit on when someone comes near me while traveling on station
