Not according to constant wave of nerfs and "REMOVE STUNS WAA".

But instakills are totally cool. Its not a stun because you're already dead, so its objectively better.

I don't think you're quite seeing the disconnect here where stuns are bad evil wrong but instant death is okay.

I think instant death is far preferrable to being stunned tbh. In the case of being btfo'd by a pneumatic cannon, the impact and the sound of glass fleshily imbedding into your flesh has made me jump on a number of occasions, even as the dude who fired it. It's just got such a good impact sound and weight to it that it's very satisfying to hit something with it.

In the case of stuns, oh yay, I just stunned a guy, now to keep hitting him and occasionally turning my stunbaton on and off. This is totally more fun than utterly destroying somebody with glass shards.

I don't mind cannons, if only because they're so limited. Yes you can kill one guy, but they're one shot, they run out of gas pretty quick too (so not many reloads), they're a fiddle to load up (you can't tip a bag of shards in, right?), so there are all sorts of negatives.

If you're facing a group, for example, your cannon is not going to save you. It's okay to have weapons that are very good in a one on one, and we have lots of them, like tasers, shotguns, ebows and so on. Unlike those weapons, it's much easier to get tarpitted with a cannon.

Acid works regardless, and even works on borgs/mechs. (and according to OP, works through acid protection somehow?)

Syringes are blocked by the "THICKMATERIAL" flag, which things such as hardsuits have. Cyborgs and Mechs are not affected by acid. Items with the "unacidable" flag are immune to acid and protect the wearer.

Acid causes brute damage, which effects borgs and mechs.
I have killed loads of borgs back when polysmoke nades were good.

I don't nw if anything has changed, since I stopped using polynades before goofchem came in (it was OP to the point of unfairness), but it works.
Same with deathnettle beig able to robust the shit out of borgs/mechs/aliens/blobs - the acid does a metric assload of damage.

If the only way a cannon can one hit kill someone if its loaded with a chemical that has to be acquired from chemistry, one that is not freely handed out, then I dunno I don't see the problem.

What's the functional difference between a Taser/Energy Gun/Similar one hit stunning and killing you versus a cannon that literally one hit kills you.

Outside of adrenal implants, or massive incompetency, being hit with a stun is a assured kill or capture. The cannon just seems to skip the stun part and goes straight to the conclusion.

The bullshit I pwn taser has dominated for long enough. More Lethal weapons should be applauded and buffed.

Even loaded with glass it nearly insta crits on armored and unarmored targets (You will bleed to death in seconds).

Don't compare an instant kill literally the exact same as Death Wand to fucking tasers you retards.

Why does the cannon have a valve on the side but doesn't actually need anything like a transfer valve?

Bay essentially limited the cannon by requiring a transfer valve to build, which is only found in toxins for them. You can order transfer valves from cargo here, which still limits them but doesn't put an actual cap on them based on how many roundstart valves there is.

If there should be any nerf, it should just require a transfer valve in its construction. You can literally make 2 inside the tool storage all assistants used to spawn in at round-start if you steal a few non-essential pipes from under the flooring.

You want to know why people don't want this removed?

It is because people feel that everything that was remotely threatening to people has been nerfed over the years, leaving a boring meta where basic stuns like tasers and batons outplay everything.

Bullshit was balanced by being able to construct smarter, better bullshit yourself. Balance was being better at looking for creative things to combine into lethal combinations.

The nerfing has been ongoing predominantly for so long I just can't remember when it started.

Every time someone mentions power creep I just laugh.

The cannon is something I want to have around even if I will personally just use it for win more shit like putting throwing stars in it.

I think the topic of lethality and shit should be separated out to its own topic. It's a pretty big deal and deserves its own spotlight instead of stealing it from the cannon.

There is one great outcome from this: I rised up the blood pressure of some of you shitheads and lowered your lifespan.
