put a nutriment into jerky and raisin

Post by Super Aggro Crag » #129022

you used to be able to eat a jerky and a raisin to heal your 1.3333 damage to one body part and it was nice because then you didn't have to bother medbay. now you have to either bother medbay or hope the chef didn't suicide roundstart cuz he didn't get antag.

I don't get why you'd ever need to heal such a minute amount of damage.

If I could code I'd just make it so tiny 3 brute bruises healed over time.

The problem was exacerbated by slipping doing damage, but by now I think it's mostly alright.

Because the health interface doesn't make much distinction between "damaged a tiny amount" and "damaged a fair bit". It'll still stay that vague sort of yellow-green and you don't know how injured you are unless you're 100%. Minor bruising's a big band too, so the examine feature doesn't help much.

It's just annoying to know you're injured, but not by how much. Everyone therefore wants to heal up damage when it gets done. It's the same reason people were so annoyed by small amounts of damage by water slipping.

Small amount of damage as low as even one can make you take one less hit from some weapons depending on the armor you have, so it's actually a big deal missing 5 damage.

This could work, actually. While alive, you heal damage at a rate of one point per minute (adjustable?). A quick exposure to a hull breach will take a few minutes to heal, and you'll return to full health after being shot with a laser after twenty minutes.

really though this should only work up to a certain threshold of damage
you shouldn't be able to take two axe swings to the face and walk it off

Junk food does have nutriment in it (but less than chef food) which does heal your brute damage. /thread

Out of slight boredom, I checked the code.
All the food in the food vending machine (Cept Twinkies which are pure sugar, and Syndicakes) have 1 Nutriment, and 3 Sugar. (Syndicakes have 4 Nutriment and 5 Doctor's Delight).
