make timestop sprite match its area

Post by PKPenguin321 » #132941

timestop sprite is smaller than its actual area, meaning you can be 2~ tiles away from the giant swirly clock and still get frozen
i got cucked by this firsthand last night and legitimately thought it was a bug

before you unironically start screeching "i ded pls nerf," note that literally all im asking for is for the sprite to be a bit bigger
i play Lauser McMauligan. clown name is Cold-Ass Honkey
i have three other top secret characters as well.

It's a pretty weird sprite tbh. Literally a stopwatch?

What does a stopwatch have to do with time anyway
P.S. Shoot Dr. Allen on sight and dissolve his body in acid. Don't burn it.

The timestop sprite actually DOES cover its entire area, the timestop is 5x5.
It's also really buggy and will stop people who run out of it, making it appear larger than it actually is.
Plays Joan Lung and various AIs and cyborgs with mythology and magical creature-themed names. Joan on IRC.

I've seen a sec officer run THROUGH the actual Time Stop sprite and freeze about 3 or 4 tiles outside of it. It's really buggy.

I too have run out of (actually, through) a timestop sprite and got frozen a few tiles away. It's annoying as fuck, and it really makes the wizard seem more powerful than he has any damned right to be. If I'm out of it, let me move around!

The issue with freezing several tiles out of the animation is due to lag, and at least one coder has said they're not sure how to fix it. It's a little unintuitive, but after running into it at least once, it's pretty easy to just remember that even touching the timestopped area will cause you to freeze soon. Hell, we might be best served by re-fluffing the spell so that it sounds like it's SUPPOSED to eventually freeze you as opposed to right away.
