Now it keeps circling around the station in a straight line VERY fast and INSTAKILLS anyone it hits

This is hilarious and dumb

It's been like this for at least 6 months. Used to be it didn't trigger very often because the event fire rate was slower, and since we buffed that recently events are occurring more frequently, aka rods are more frequent.

It's because the way space was changed.

With the new shitty system, if you leave one z-level and go in a straight line, you'll eventually come back to the same z-level.
Guess what the immovable rod does?

It should be deleting itself when it reaches the edge, not changing z-levels anyway. It can't travel.

The RD should suplex the immovable rod into the ground if it hits him while he's on Grab Intent

having your throw intent selected should let you grab the immovable rod and have it tear your arms off, which will now remain attached to the rod as it flies through space.

There should be an admin spawnable weapon called the Lance of Longinus that's a resprited Immovable rod that is throwable, and can kill anything it touches, including ascended shadowlings

Rod loops are hilarious. I've seen crews start a religion around them and sacrifice various crew members to the looping rod and worship it as a god. I've seen a looping rod mow down like 8 people because they were trying to drag a previously hit body.

my favorite moment with one was when i was a loyalist in a rev round and the HoS suddenly went down in a seemingly random explosion. i rushed to help him up and a few moments later i died instantly too. dozens of ghosts were hanging around and they were quick to tell me that an immovable rod had just looped and taken out two loyalists. laughs were had.

I was defeated once as a traitor and the CE who killed me tied my corpse to a chair in the rod's path so every now and then there'd be a loud THUNK as it impacted my corpse and kept going

That's nothing. There was a round recently, when the last headrev was in hiding, plotting how to kill the last head, only to be suddenly murdered by a rod. I've died to the same rod twice, once when dragging a security officer to his death.

I once spawned a centcom indestructible wall in front of an immovable rod loop. Needless to say, they hit each other, made the noise, and then ignored each other. I guess that question about the unstoppable force and the immovable object is finally solved.
