Miners need EVA suits. Lavaland has stupidly low pressure and the fact that broken rocks have no air in them only make the pressure problem worse. Since the KA only works well in low pressure this is a double-edged sword, because the current mining suits aren't pressure resistant and mining using bombs or anything that takes away a large amount of rock at once destroys the pressure and makes me take damage.

Even worse then that, the number of miner deaths due to getting spaced by the mining shuttle has skyrocketed because miners aren't EVA capable and some chucklefuck at a shuttle console always sends the shuttle somewhere just as I'm getting off or onto it, and space wind drags me out into the void.

Lavaworld atmosphere is mostly tolerable but there are some oddities like gibtonite creating seriously damaging low pressure and the front area of the prison transport basically being airless. One prisoner walked into the front section and I basically console him that not all the air was quite that deadly before he would move again.

All you need is internals to survive in lavaland normally, takes a considerable amount of normal "mining" to depressurize but yeah gibtonite fucks that right up.

Coulda sworn there was some kind of mention about a way to get the normal mining suits instead when this first came out but I never looked into it.

Bring back the glory of purple rig suits.

Giving miners space suits seems like an awfully lazy way of dealing with an atmos bug.

Hardsuits might be added to the mining vendor though for the sake of having stuff worth buying.

I'm conflicted. I really want EVA capable suits - because gibtonite is complete bullshit, but I like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sprites better - by a lot. They look different, they are aesthetically pleasing.

They're also tacticool memes which simply don't fit miners.
Miners are corporate slaves, not operators operating operationally.

You have to admin that bright purple mining hardsuits simply don't fit the grim and dark lavaland.

They're purple and gold, and the design's made for quick recognition so your bleeding corpse will be easily visible to search parties.

Also so your sprite stands out against the blackground.

Isn't the whole point of lavaland so that nothing stands out?

Would it be possible to just give the mining suit the same amount of protection against pressure as a hardsuit? Seems like that'd at least make a good quick fix.

That would make it a space resistant firesuit with 0 slowdown I am pretty sure.

we should make them in limited supply like normal vending machines, that way you can still get your suit but if you get 40 gorillion points you can't make the whole crew spaceworthy
