Monkey Logic

I like what you did, and again I HAVE SUGGESTED IT. I'm so smart.

Anyway, if you didn't notice, monkeys are more active now. They will walk around, defend and attack, follow people, pick up items and such. Very nice.

Few ideas,
Make them like slimes so they grow attached to you if you do nice stuff to them, like give clothes, feed, heal.
Make them hide in vents when in peril.

Add the walk around and follow code to other pets too!

I hate them. I saw a virologist nearly get murdered by his monkeys the other day as 6 monkeys from the pen all attacked him at once, this is not how things should be.

I like them because it's funny to see the Geneticists and Virologists flick a monkey and get their ass handed to them, I kind of wish they were smarter though.

I quite like the new system, though I'm dissapointed there have been no "fire extinguisher + bio bag antag xenobiologists" razing the station by deploying monkey squads in key locations.

Did we ever implement a method to enrage all of them at once, other then attacking a monkey in their line of sight?

They're worse than Carp right now. I opened a crate of enraged monkeys once and they were only a nuisance.

Possibly they need 3 states? Relaxed, Mischievous and Enraged, where mischievous has them stealing things/trying to escape/doing non lethal stuff but enraged has them gunning for blood?

There's already an admin (maybe it's in cargo now) crate of angry apes that has like 10+mad fuckers inside. Teleport it in using bluespace beacon.

I think a bigger question we need to ask is: Are these fucking chimps or are they spider monkies or what? Because its really inconsistent, they can crawl through vents but they can also lift your dumbass into disposals and punch like fucking tyson, I actually do think this needs clearing up once and for all, although I will admit, the idea of: Image

Give monkeys (at least pet monkey) internal reputation meter, to distinguish friends from foes. Bartender would be a friend by default. Friendly monkeys would respond to basic commands like "stay" "drop" "follow" and such, and would defend their friend. Pun Pun still gets slaughtered in vain, often because he's just getting in the way.

Hell, you could do this to all pets. Imagine Runtime clawing someones eyes out defending CMO.

Reputation with pet would decrease as you attack it, and increase if you feed it pet-specific food, hug, and heal wounds. Pet reputation would go back to neutral with time.
