The new interface is really fucking retarded and we should go back to the verb system.

It's really nothing but needless clutter on what was otherwise a perfect system.

Perhaps it can just be a setting to opt into the new GUI?

I really need to get some time in as a AI.

But I fully support any attempt to bring the games UI into the actual game instead of leaving it in the verbs. I think a PR was recently made and/or merged that makes the UI look more sleek.

Maybe if there is a way to show a pop-up text on what each button does...

I agree. It was really unnecessary to do this. Verbs were perfectly functional. Now half of the functionality is verbs and half is these symbols for whatever reason.

Like, announcement button is a symbol, but announcement help, which used to be right next to announcement verb, is still a verb and is far away from the symbol.

I don't recall any AI players ever requesting something like this.

Phuleeeease.

And it does show their name when you hover your cursor over the icon. Also, new pictures are already merged.

Pop-up text would be amazing, yeah. Ideally it would be standardized and we can do it with everything!

I understand having a bunch of shit on the bottom of the screen can be cluttery, so I'm in support of sensible ways to reduce that. Not interested in an opt-in/opt-out system to go back to verbs though. A way to expand/contract the view and/or move the buttons around would be great.

cant we use the maptext var for pop-up text? obviously make it neater in some form of proc though.

Verbs are stacked in a neat menu, all say explicitly what they do, all near each other.

Now I have to think "hmmm, is that function in the icons or still in verbs?"
Then I have to read all verbs "no I don't think it is"
Then I have to hover my mouse over each icon to see what it does

Instead of pressing one button. This is why verbs are better than this.

I don't mind some other solution, but please not what we have currently.

Before it was the AI verb tab having 30+ verbs which you'd have to look around for to find that specific verb.

Well you basically made it so you have to look around in two different places and in one of them you have to mouse over things to actually understand what exactly they do.

Which solves what exactly?

aka the issue is that you're just not used to the icons yet.

I don't see why the icon interface necessitates the removal of some verbs from the AI tab. A fair few left click object interactions for humans are also in the object verb menu.

Can it be made optional?

The only complaint I have is that I can't type track into the command bar anymore. I have to use the GUI to locate people which takes significantly longer.

This is another issue, yes. None of the verbs can be typed manually anymore, which I find extremely inconvenient as I also relied heavily upon manually typed commands.

The issue is that it didn't get any better and it did get worse.

Yeah, typing out the commands (or at least, part of the commands then pressing space) is way more convenient than clicking a button. There's really no reason to remove the verbs other than "ew verbs".

Yup.

Alright, you make good points to re-add the verbs and re-adding the verbs probably isnt hard so it can be done.

Could have a toggle for showing 'duplicated' verbs.

Actually, that's a good point. Does F12 hide the AI interface?

No, it doesn't. It results in an error that states "only human mobs can hide interface", or something along those lines.

I like it.

It improves response times as an AI, and it doubtless makes things much easier to get into for new AIs.

protip when in the tracking menu you can press the first letter of someone's name to jump to them on the list which is 200% faster than typing it out anyway you fucking noobs

For the record, track-with-camera is now just track, and you can type it into the command bar again. It doesn't show up in the verbs list though.
