So, perhaps the most common and simple use of money will be an interesting question here: What physical form will this currency take, and how will this be exchanged in such mediums as the bar or kitchen? I'd rather not just file all the food and drinks into vending machines to purchase things - I rather like the open counters.

No no you fools, don't give points for sec brigging people (I'm convinced this idea was a joke).
Give points for turning in syndicate technology. Lowish points but large bonus for the first sample, so research can mass-produce emags without breaking the economy entirely.

If antags gona be mugging people they should get the option in their Syndicate PDA to upgrade the PDA so they can slowly "hack" other players accounts via ID/PDA getting small sums of money and the more they continue to hack the same players account non-stop (not leaving the target player's proximity or cancel hacking for any other reason) more of the poor bastards money would be transferred to the antag's PDA which he could hit the ATM with after punching in his PIN to complete the deposit/withdrawal. But on the flip side if retard gets to greedy the victim would get little hints like their PDA beeping loudly or something of the sort.

Even though players should only be able to access their money via ATMs and only be able to make physical monotary transaction I suppose IDs/PDAs could act as a proxy of some sort. And Emags spit out cash out the ying yang of course!

Like Pap says this job should be delegated to the HoP along with changes of the rate of pay for each retard on the station and protect the station's money from the Captain.

Service (WHY EVERYONE ALWAYS FORGETS ABOUT SERVICE?) should get money by taking it out off vending machines (Jaintor), selling drinks/food to crew (Chef, Bartender) or selling stuff they grow to cargo or chef (Botany) and then buy vending machines resupply kits (Jaintor), exotic drinks or foods (Bartender, Chef) or seeds (Botany).
Medbay could get money from selling viruses or chems and from people's insurances (every crewmember should start with one, even greyshirts) by taking sample of their DNA and inserting it into medical records. Then people would have to renew their insurance or something. If someone doesn't have enough money on it then he either pays up higher price or gets brigged. Also insurance frauds. Also medbay lings would have fun times emptying everyone's insurance from dosh.

Every departament should also get bonuses based on their perfomance (Security just saved Captain HoP? PAY THEM A LOT! Service just held a stationwide party? Five space dosh per head, we don't have time for this).

This has been talked about so many times and I have come to the conclusion that none of you realize how stupid money is. It does nothing. We don't need a falsified currency system that will only add a small amount of roleplay value and will be largely ignored in a month or so. Seriously, why do you think people will care about this in months to come? Anything we could do with currency in inter-personal situations, we can solve via the trading system, which works and it works well. We don't need currency. It does nothing.

I actually were saying how stupid and useless is that back when NTStation started and StarToad (>startoad) was making big plans. It's just "one additional step betwen me and my raisins", not to mention that changing cargo to money system is just detail change, and giving departaments money is making cargo unable to say no if they ask for something.

But i was only one and apparently i hate fun so i just went with "if we really need that, just make it properly".

I like the idea of money. Make it so cargobay could use cash to buy things. Also, it would make the money tree much more needed.
