Replacing the single dorms

They're literally only used for ERP and braindead people ling-chow (rarely) so I think I'm going to take a page from Bay's book and move the dorms to either crew quarters for each department or turn them into a more crew-focused set of beds in one or two larger rooms. Single bed cabins should be reserved for the Captain, he's the only one who should be worrying about privately erping the CMO getting his throat cut in his sleep anyway.

Considering we're running under the assumption that the dorms are really only for naps or for shift rotations with a large staff, crew members probably don't need any kind of personal room outside of a bed to sleep on and a personal locker for their private belongings. And if anyone cunts about ERP sanctity or crew romance privacy being ruined, true ERPers build a fully powered box in space with r-walls and working life support anyway.

especially if I need to go brain dead for a little bit ( happens annoyingly often) but am a greyshirt with valuable stuff (aka: traitor gear/multibelt) I lock myself into a dorm so I don't get looted/murdered.

People belonging to actual departments usually don't need to do so however.

we should steal BS12's cryosleep stuff too so we can reopen the jobslot for stuff like head roles without admin intervention

I support the above, as I think you can just leave the game open and you wont get removed.

They function well as lockable rooms for people to go AFK in if they expect to be coming back

Yah, but you can also leave the round entirely.

How about being considered catatonic after 30 minutes of having the game closed? That's plenty of time to disappear from a round and return, and if you're gone longer than that you're usually not coming back. Plus, people who come back don't always close their game.

Bay has MUCH longer rounds, you also have to consider that.

Did you know you can lock yourself into a personal locker instead and the risk of you being looted is MUCH lower?

30 minutes is way too long. A round can end before30 minutes pass.

20 or 15 might be better, but if you're pulled away from the game for that long and come back to find your body catatonic that might piss a lot of people off. HOWEVER, if an admin was on he could always do the responsible thing and put you back into your body if you ahelped about it.

If the round ends in 30min, dosent that mean the round itself only went on for 15-17 min?

-Edit, screwed up a number-

If it's a thirty minute round, it's probably either wizard or nuke ops, and I don't see why it would matter if they weren't considered catatonic by then.
