That's a win button right there. Why is it still present after all these years?

Because that's really their only offensive ability. Without it it'd be impossible for drones or hunters to grab humans, specially now that there's a whole bunch of facehugger-proof masks and helmets.

I mean, they are supposed to be a button that admins press when the round gets stale.

You'd think there'd be more use for that spit. Or perhaps I'm just remembering it to be more potent than it is.

EDIT: Also, it doesn't help that I haven't found a xenomorph that has taken anyone back to a nest in about half a year, maybe more - plenty of xenomorphs constantly stunning three or four people to death at once, though.

Because in the movies aliens usually pounce people before tearing their limbs off. It's literally the hunters' only source of power. Get good.

Gotta agree with everyone else and say they need to take people alive and often strip them, this is where babies come from.

Aliens are supposed to be killing machines. If they couldnt down you in a fist fight then they would be pretty useless. How about you stop trying to be Jet Li and fight them from a distance using lasers instead?

Xenomorphs always seemed so...vulnerable to me.

I will say, if xenomorphs are so weak, then how can they beat their natural predators - RIPLEY APLUs - in a straight-up fight?

Because ripleys are the embodiment of suck.

Because there are zero redeeming qualities to the Ripley

The Ripley is not a combat mech. It is a utility mech. It is useful for breaking into places, storing crates and providing a bit more protection to the user. It is worthless for much else, though.

It's true. Natural enemy of the xenomorph is a Durand with the Solaris laser cannon.

Or an Odysseus with neurotoxin loaded.

If you need to take someone alive you devour them then ventcrawl home.

So many aliens forget about the devour.

Last time a Alien tried to devour me I ended up breaking out instantly and gibbing the Alien.

I would not recommend it if the victim knows what they are doing.

Strip them first. Of everything. They can only escape if they have something in their hands. No item, no escape!

Aliens are great in close quarters and suck ass at anything beyond that.

Either way, I thought that was the conclusion we came to anyway. Most Aliens, barring the Sentinel and Queen, are melee only, thus they should preform extremely well in melee.

You're forgetting potentially the best attack Xenos of all kinds have:

Throwing facehuggers at unsuspecting people.
