The normal ones are in the costume vendor (coin required), and the black normal ones are in as contraband items when the vendor is hacked
I don't really know where else to put 'em
yeah they are the best item though basically

I have no complaints. A feature I'd normally be like "this is too stupid" but once I put them on as HoS I never wanted to play ss13 without them

I think they're alright to have in the game (but it looks retarded it you have a hardsuit helmet on), but I think it's silly to have it as default kit for anyone. (captain and HoS both have their own set in their lockers, dunno if anyone else does).

Napkin has a point but artyom isn't a codebase where we care about ss13 original vibe integrity so much because we're not autistic. It'd be better as a miner-only item if you ask me, the mesons are the only real item where it's a reference but not overly suffocating with 6 different variations on gar shades. It's a crime the mesons weren't implemented initially and I had to do it. If you want to add something funny like that, think of a fun way to add it instead of just adding it outright. There's a couple x-com references that could be argued as MUH FAVORITE SHIT GAME garbage too.
