Wasn't this from a change on the /tg/ codebase that normalized all the melee weapons which in turn removed the briefcase's snowflakeness and made it a normal melee weapon?

we should really just make the knockout shit a proc in /obj/item, and have it do the old shit and probabilities and such if a var is set to 1 on the item.

i'll look into that soonish

Wasnt it changed because it was able to knockout cyborgs? As well as people at a insane rate.

The briefcase was literally useless against anyone with over half their health remaining, and instantly knocked anyone under that threshold out.

never seen a single person use it effectively in my 4 years of playing so no. I've seen people use throwing cable coils effectively and people killed with pies

if you took one look at the horrible shitty code that briefcases had, even a non-coder would understand how bad it was
it was snowflake as fuck
they won't be changed back, but they CAN be reworked to have the same function written better and put into a proc

They were rarely used, but they had a nice unique effect. Now they're just plain melee weapons that nobody will use because there are much better weapons everywhere anyway.

Just code a knockdown proc - %chance to knockdown at %health brackets. Probably wouldn't be too hard (>byond)
