Bottom post of the previous page:

The only justification this feature had for existing was the fact it existed as a option.

Space Station 13 is a game defined by the things you can do that no other game lets you. More so this is known for the little things.

I'm not claiming to be for or against this, but I fully understand why many people would be very against its removal as removing it may be seen as akin to violating one of the things that draws people to SS13, that extra level of complexity and interactivity.

Well, the main reason it got brought up was the fact that Conan Exiles might be adding castration to it's feature list.

Not gonna lie, gender reassignment surgery with hatches was one of the examples I used to explain "you can do almost everything in ss13" to people.

The sheer lunacy of being able to do that was one of the reasons I and some friends started to play long ago. Granted, I haven't played as much lately, and last times I did surgery I was getting too confused with the new options for things to really notice.

Having a feature removed because "MY GOD IT INSINUATES YOU ARE TOUCHING MY GENTALS ERPPP REEEE" is terrible. If you aren't intelligent enough to see the logical fallacy in that then you most likely aren't old enough to be playing here to begin with.

I spent a round hunting people down, removing their eyes, stripping them naked and displaying them in glass boxes at escape and then RP'ing my excitement over it and didn't get bwoinked. So I doubt it will be an issue unless the person reports it.

It has literally nothing to do with gender politics/muh SJWS/triggering people and more to do with the fact that it was basically only ever used so ultra funny non-antags could go around kidnapping people and tying them up for 20 minutes to lop off their johnson. It only encouraged stupid annoying behavior like that and it was getting old having to explain to someone every three months why dragging people into maint wordlessly to swap their genitals was being a cunt and there really wasn't any actual other reason for it to exist.

1) Surgeon performs gender reassignment surgery on Patient.
2) Patient is given a menu - "Which pronouns do you want to use?" - to choose from [he, she or they].
3) If Patient is willingly undergoing the surgery (for disguise purposes, or if they're playing along with an antag) they'll probably pick a set they're not currently using.
4) If Patient is unwilling to be surgerised, they'll pick the set they're currently using, and nothing will change.
5) People are no longer uncomfortable, gender reassignment can no longer be used to griff, and it retains its use as an easily-accessible disguise tool.

I mean we could also do this...

1) Antag McGrey pulls out a revolver/Toolbox/Bikehorn
2) Clicks on victim's sprite
3) Victim is given a menu "Do you want to die?"
4) If victim is willing, their model turns 90 degrees sideways.
5) People now no longer have to worry about unwanted deaths and hurt feelings and antags don't have to be considered bad guys anymore because nobody has to die that doesn't want to.

the "it's rarely used" argument is a bit weak when that applies to huge portions of the game's features, mostly due to the fact that the RP has deteriorated to the point where they aren't used if they aren't the top meta
