/tg/Station 13

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to put this under, we didn't seem to have a technical issues sub forum, and mIrc is always dead when I'm in it, but last night I was playing and lagged/crashed out like I usually do, so I tried reconnecting and got this:



I tried power cycling my modem and router, restarting my computer, but no no avail. I cannot connect to any /tg/station server at all, but I can connect to others fine. I don't think I'm banned at all. Normally when this happened to me at /vg/station I'd just wait over night and it would be fine, however I tried it again this morning and still can't get in.

What do? Pls halp.

Which server?

It happened on Sybil but I get the same thing with Artyom and Basil.

I'm having the same issue actually, I can't connect to any of the the TG station servers.

Try sending your IP to Scaredy.

Oh hey, it's letting me in now, if it happens again I'll definatly do that though. ^^

After talking to our Dear Leader on IRC I can get in now.

Whenever this happens to me I just go into my router settings change one character in the clone MAC address option then restart my modem for a new IP address instantly

Oh so it's an issue with IP addresses? Interesting.

The server's firewall is super touchy I found this out when I was making the game banners, if you do anything at all that makes it get even a little bit suspicious it just blocks your ip address.

The biggest one that triggers for people here is spamming connections to servers too quickly when the server is down, a failed connection marks against you more then repetitive successful ones.

The firewall can't tell the difference between you trying to connect to a application that's down but suppose to be up, and someone trying to probe the server for running services/applications in preparation for a hacking attempt or ddosing; so if the game servers are down, don't spam them with connection attempts.
