It's a toss-up between chef, curator and janitor.
Janitor has little access to hard-killing tools but their maintenance access puts them on a level playing field with assistants but they're more distinctive than an assistant (nobody ever says the assistant is rogue because there's so many of them, but somoene saying the janitor is rogue is a lot more specific). They can easily and expediently clean up a crime scene and the trash bag can be used as a makeshift utility belt.
Chef has high damage weapons, some of which can be concealed in their pockets, and their gibber can be a gamechanger for dealing with corpses. But their lack of maintenance access makes them unable to use them to avoid the public eye for avoiding being seen dragging corpses into the cold room. Like the Janitor, they have a distinctive appearance and there's rarely more than one, leading to easy identification during a callout
I haven't played as a curator but from what I understand the whip is fairly useful and their languages can potentially be used to frame someone in the right circumstances. However they lack maintenance access, are a unique role and lack killing tools. However, they do possess a laser pointer which can be used to stun borgs at a distance, EMP cameras and temporarily blind someone through flash protection like sunglasses. You can upgrade it with better microlasers from science as well for greater chances of success.

Medical Doctor

- No maintenance access
- No access anywhere important
- Medbay is a very public space, so utilizing any of it for traitor schemes (sabotaging sleepers and cryo) can get you very easily caught
- As a loyal crew member, weak as hell defensively aside from chemicals (which you either beg for or steal) or the surgery tools
- Work area commonly bombed and shit
- Expected to be working in medbay

medical doctor is pretty redundant when robotics make medical bots and/or there's a medical borg around, at that point all you're needed for is maybe finding dead people and cloning them, but with how science is they'll have auto-cloning up pretty fast and people rarely end up dying with maximum suit sensors in anywhere you can get to in a reasonable time.

Even with suit sensors up most of the deaths you'll notice before anyone else end up in maintenance, though suit sensors are very vague with considering how "starboard maintenance" describes quite a broad area, for example, coupled with the fact you don't even have maint access to begin with and the fact whoever killed said person might still be around leading to you just being as dead as the person you're trying to save, since most of the time people tend to ignore you for their own reasons. All in all robots can do your job better than you can do your job, apart from setting up cryo, but that's really it.

Even when neither of those things exist, people seem pretty reluctant to let you do anything for yourself, they avoid the sleepers most of the time since they all seem convinced you're going to give them morphine and either beeline for the heal-all tube or break into the medkit storage the moment you look away. Most people who bring bodies in ignore you completely and demand the AI lets them into cloning/sets medbay to emergency access so they can drag the dead in for cloning, too.

Having played doctor a lot, I can safely say that a doctor actually paying attention will be plenty busy trying to keep all you dumb bastards alive, and occasionally murdering and half-assedly cloning greytiders trying to kill you.

Dude, clown can clown and get away with almost everything.

One time I slipped half the station and fed them deadly poison beer.
I hid the poison beer in my storage implant and had real beer in my backpack.
Sec arrests me for poisoning people and forces me to drink my backpack beer.
I get really drunk and shittalk them.
Sec lets me go for lack of evidence.

Trololololol.

Cook is the silent unsung hero of service, with a minimal job that makes sure everyone isn't slow as shit and serves as the primary buffcaster (besides bartender) & silent body disposer on the station. The bartender is in the same category but has enough toys already (shotgun, for one) while the chef has a whetstone they don't often have the legitimate opportunity to use without obvious 'act antag be dunked' and 'bwoink! why did you stab that man to death - It was a accident my knife did extra damage because its sharp" or being silently tazed & robbed by security, command or the chaplain.

And then they get made redundant by virology making a no-eat virus, botany shitting on them by not giving produce or giving dangerous produce, and constant counter jumpers, the morgue for a lack of cremation/spacing coffins would also be too full of unused bodies. People throw, melt, burn and vomit their food all over the place.

- clowns for instance that can't just use some backroom to make more cream pies and insist on slipping & tabling you every six seconds for jokes if they are not violently slammed with the shutters into crit.

Without the cook - You'd be slow as shit, and lower on health, speed is important to PVP or even PVE for kiting. Some food is blatently effective & it also helps to regenerate blood via good nutrition naturally making it vital to medbay in more ways than one.

Chef is stupidly reliant on other jobs to even have basic function or usefulness.

If the botanists aren't growing produce, you're stuck with nothing but meat for boring steaks and burgers.
If the botanists grind their produce and hand out bottled nutriment, you're irrelevant.
If virology makes a weight even virus, you're irrelevant.
If it's lowpop and everyone can subsist off of cup ramen and donk pockets, you're irrelevant.
If the round doesn't even last long enough for people to get hungry, you're irrelevant.
If someone injects your food with toxins while you're not looking. Someone will call it out and your round's over.

It has to be lawyer in my opinion. Sure, you get Sec access and a radio, but no real weapons, Security generally does not like you, and when is the last time someone got to hold a court case?

mime
very clearly mime
clown gets all the fun shit and gimmicks
mime gets one power, one traitor item, and a shitty doll he can't even use without breaking his vow
and also executed for not responding to the interrogator

The wall being unpassable is very very strong, i hardly think that's as much of a downside.

-> Closest thing we have to a wizard on the station with the mandate to be as shit as the clown & often is.

yeah, one wall every half-minute, whee
robust, maybe
but not very fun

like the clown the mime needs specific ways to entertain people that can be weaponised in a pinch

Fun fact, the guitar does 10 damage and makes the most hilarious sound, and no one bats an eye at a mime playing music.

Curators whip is the most powerful melee weapon in the game.

Cook can be a lot of fun with some mild cooperation, even if you're not that powerful on paper you have a lot of stuff you can do and choices with food, and if all else fails you can break into/request access to botany to grow your own ingredients. (Or use the public garden) And it's always fun to make delicious meals out of monsters, antags, and people who annoy you.

Bartender I think has some problems in that while you start with a weapon and there's a lot of variety in cocktails, you're even more dependent on botany, science and chemistry who are even less likely to cooperate with you, it takes some effort to get your real fun stuff (like shotgun darts full of Bacchus' Blessing) and by then the round is usually over, and you're an even more likely target than the cook for greytiders and clowns to mess with and wreck the bar and waste your cocktails. And on BoxStation you don't even get a ChemMaster.

Mind you, I'm a weirdo who actually enjoys playing Cook. (I've got picky eating issues IRL so maybe it's the novelty)

Clown should try to befriend the cook and bartender, not mess with them, since they're the ones who provide the pies and banana-themed beverages.
