I mean, it certainly looks further along than most failed attempts, but I'd guess most of the really complex systems haven't been touched yet.

Also yes I like the aesthetic, but until the netcode problem is solved I'm not going to give it any hope at all.

It's got atmos and stuff (check the vids), however it's not a remake.
It's one guy's sandbox for figuring out what a 3D Spacestation13 should be, it is not itself that.

i've been 3d modelling for ss3d since very early and because of that i used to talk to beep (the lead and only coder) a lot, and doing that, you get the strong impression that he's a responsible level-headed guy who wouldn't just quit like that, and that makes it stranger
thing is, the last thing he released was a gun test which featured a jericho 3d model i made, and he said he was working further on UI i think, after that he didnt make a single post, he didnt even release the client to anyone
one very common theory in the wasteland that is the ss3d discord is that beep actually died in real life

i know personally of one developer who disappeared while working on a huge update for a game i played, only to find out a month later he'd been in a fatal car accident.

honestly, our best bet is getting the remaining corpses of the 3d models made and dumping them on ss14 because apparently they want to have both 2d and 3d which (to me) seems retarded and a huge workload that'll 100% kill their project but yeah

How can they have 2D and 3D? Do they just mean make it visually 3D or have a version of the game with free movement including jumping?
Actually that's kind of funny. Xenos can leap but no-one can jump. Even jetpack flying simply leaves spessman feet scraping across the floor.

It looks like this is still being developed by a group of people and it's open source. I downloaded the latest build and messed around for a couple minutes, obviously it's WIP but what they have looks good. I love the art style. Just trying to publicize this since I can't/don't have time to learn to code, but maybe someone here can and wants to contribute.
