Alrighty, time for the Summer ball because apparently 6 months passing is enough for us to make an event. I will be hosting it this time. I don't have a particular day in mind, but I'd say the most amount of time I would need would be like 2 weeks. We definitely learned a lot from the previous ball about how to handle a ball so I'll make sure we have someone designated as security and admining.

This one will probably be a little bit less formal than the first one being that (if all goes to plan) I can make something that is on the beach. It will also be optional to all people but it will take place on Terry so people will likely be there to participate. I'm EST so I'd probably do it in the early evening so that Europeans can join too.

You can use this thread to find a person to bring to the event. I may do it multiple times but that's not guaranteed. Don't be a nerd and cause drama by bringing more than one!

Oh yeah, and feel free to post your ideas for the event/map in this thread.

Edit: I am thinking either the coming Saturday or next Saturday at around 6-7PM EST if you want an estimate. Much higher chance of it being next weekend, though I may work really fast and get it done this week. I'll report back on discord regarding this.

Would it be possible to have medical more equipped for the occasional murder or whatever on the dance floor? Like, having upgraded sleepers/compact defibs at whatever med post. Maybe a free recycler somewhere to void junk, noticed a lotta random stuff littered about last time.

Actually, I just realized I may need spriters. The current coastline is two tiles pointing downwards. This isn't very useful if I wanted to make a cool looking beaches that twist and turn and make islands.

If someone could make coastline tiles that look good (don't need to be animated!) that fit the layout of: a corner, a side, and a tiny little peninsula: that would be really useful. These might actually exist somewhere else but if we could make them homegrown, that would be really useful.

I just made a dumb sketch of what I need in MSpaint here. The yellow is the beach and the blue is the water. The black squares are supposed to be the 32x32 boxes. All I really need is a corner that can be rotated, coasts that can be rotated, and I would want (if possible) tiny little peninsulas that can be rotated too.

Cool! So I got what I needed for the coastlines. The ball date is set for next week on Saturday, June 9th at 6PM EST (11PM GMT+1, 3PM PST)
All that really remains is some misc stuff to be spirited. Some requests that we've had already have been tiki-torches and pool chairs. If anyone could sprite those, that would be awesome!

Additionally, I supposed we'd expect anywhere from 50 people to 90 on the server at the time of the ball, so I'll probably need 2-3 dedicated admins to handle ahelps during the ball. Additionally, I'm not all too creative at operations so if anyone wanted to plan some side events that take place during the ball: just hit me up via pm or DM on discord telling me your ideas for events and you might become a coordinator (This would probably more of an admin role, but players are encouraged to come up with ideas for stuff during the ball.)

Some players can also sign up for security too. You'd mostly be just taking tickets and maintaining order (in addition to dancing/having fun that is.)

Other than that, the time is set in stone now if anyone wanted to plan ahead. Feel free to use this thread to organize who you're coming with. I'll probably post in here whenever I come up with ideas. The map is still in progress but it should be done by next week.

If I see an admin spawn in a bunch of nuclear operatives or some autistic shit to ruin an event then I am going to be pissed off.

I heard about what happened last winter ball or at least the one I last attended. That made me really pissed off to hear about it because it showed no fucking respect towards the person who even arranged the event.

If you are actually willing to ruin someone's rp event because it's a rp event or some shit then that is low when, at least I believe, we are told to not doggy pile onto events because it can make it worse or a complete shitfest. That doesn't even include the possibility of how the event maker feels. At best, he laughs and doesn't care. At worst, adminbus drama/mistrust.
