What is the most effective ingested poison?

Probably liquid plasma.

Plasma and polytrinic acid are equally effective, now that cyanide pills were removed.
However, most effective is to give a combination of toxins. For example hydroponics has access to coffee powder and tea leaves, toxin and amatoxin from various plants and mushrooms. Pest- and weed-killers should also work. Plasma and welding fuel is everywhere to add to the mix.

I was pretty sure that poly acid is really pointless when ingested/injected.

How effective is condensed capsaicin?

Plasma got hit by the nerf stick so they could buff Lexorin, so that's probably the most effective poison when combined with chloral hydrate and a bit of sleep toxin.

Though from a quick glance the chemical with the highest raw toxpwr is... polyacid.

15u of lexorin will drop a person into critical, and considering the only thing that counters it is dexlian (which almost nobody carries on them), its a pretty damn effective poison. I've dropped an entire security force with just lexorin syringes, shits overpowered.

Granted as long as you aren't hit by lexorin it's pretty easy to save someone who got poisoned, just spam CPR once they go into crit. Of course, if there's a madman shooting everyone with lexorin, or you're caught in a maintenance tunnel...

That's odd. I remember a round when the chef made a dish with ghost chilli and when I put a guy who ate some in a sleeper, the reagent in him was condensed capsaicin. He didn't recover until it ran out, also.

Ghost chili contains both capsaicin and condensed capsaicin. Capsaicin increases body temperature and may cause heat damage.

Its actually not, it has the same problem as old ling's Death Sting.

Namely that its damage is almost solely done via oxygen loss, which is the easiest form of damage to treat.

Emergency oxygen closets have a high likelihood of having oxy deprev kits, which contain several dex pills.
Failing that you can always just spam CPR on them, they'll eventually come around once the lexorin wears off.

If I remember correctly, you open the maintenance panel while the timer is NOT active and crowbar it out. You might need to cut the wires too, but I'm not sure.

All the wires have to be cut, yes. Timer status doesn't matter for the actual removal, but it might certainly matter for your survival.

There used to be a coordinate card to the west of the White Shuttle on z-level 3, which you could use on a teleporter to go there. It's since been removed.

Why can I not attach a remote signaller+voice analyzer assembly to a door wire? Bug or intentional or am I doing it wrong

Doing it wrong, you can only attached one thing to a door pulser, they might only accept remote signallers too... not sure if someone ever changed that.

It wouldn't let me attach the voice analyzer so I figured I needed some hybrid assembly.

@poisons, most effective is just mixing all the toxic things you can find because they will all proc at once and do their respective damages at once.

You can only do remote signallers, sadly... I don't know if it was ever changed to be that way, but I was disappointed when I learned I couldn't have voice activated door bolts.

You can. You attach the signaller to the voice analyzer to make an assembly.

You can keep a remote signaler/voice analyzer assembly in your pocket and have it work that way. Shame you can't do it the way you suggested though.

Since I usually play chef, my chances of being traitor chef are quite high.
The easiest (but also most boring) tactic at infiltration/assassination deals with persuasion and the perky kitchen knife, but I'm getting interested in poisons and fun ways to erase a target, or sabotage security.

Your thoughts on toxins, and other means to poison a target? I'd like to know where should I look to turn the meat pizza into a tool.

Poisons are actually incredibly inept at killing, you're looking at two minutes to kill people.

Unless you stack them.

Is there a way to pump a gas into a room using pipes, but not vents?

Because in theory, if you replace atmos pumps with pipes and take apart atmos computers after setting them to inject a shitton of plasma into the pipes the flood can't be stopped at any point except for the vents, which you can weld shut or turn off (can't unwrench pipes because muh internal pressure, can't shut down pumps/close valves because there are no pumps/valves).

the only way to do it without vents is to use canisters. just wrench them to a canister port and open the valve.

When you look at boxstation's map in dream maker, there's markers for a "Syndicate Breach Area" and "Marauder Entry". I have absolutely no idea what these are for/what they do.

pls explain.

how do i release the singu? I tried destroying all smes in the smes room but it didn't work
Also how do i turn off emitters

nevermind, if you are Engineer you can swipe your id into the emitters and turn them off

Set PA two 2 and on. 1 and on works as well, but will take longer. Singulo will grow and turn off on its own. I suppose you could cut the cables going to power the emitters as well, but just cranking the PA up (and cutting the AI's cameras and murdering any engineers who check up on singulo) works just fine.

Earthykiller127 wrote:how do i release the singu? I tried destroying all smes in the smes room but it didn't work
Turning off the SMESes will remove the power source from the emitters, but that can be fixed by a decent engineer or the AI.
Destroying them is harder to fix, but not impossible. Precise cable snipping will have the same effect, and not likely to be discovered.
Turning off the emitters themselves, again can be fixed by a perceptive AI. Turning off one isn't likely to bring the shields down though.
Bombing three? That'll do it for sure.
Turning the PA up to 2 will do it after a short time, again, perceptive AIs. Hacking the console to turn it up to 3 will work faster than anybody is likely able to react to. Run.
Can always subvert the AI or a borg to do these things for you.

Hoe for the weeds, pest spray for the pests. Pests themselves are actually fairly rare in my experience. Just hoe dat shit.

Can the AI still randomly intercept PDA messages?

I remember talk about removing it because they could just hack the PDA server instead, not sure if it ever went through though.

No. That was removed. The AI can still somehow inveigle access to the message monitor key and see everything.

Silavite wrote:How does one acquire an anomaly core, and what use do they have?
Anomalies spawn as a random event, with a centcom notice "(Type) Anomaly detected in: (Location)"
You hit it with an Analyzer, and it'll tell you a frequency, ping that frequency with any signaller and it'll deactivate and drop an anomaly core.
R&D can use it to boost their research levels.

Anomalies are fun, they should spawn more often.

Especially the atmosphere one, it burns things.

Re: Simple Questions Thread

by Raven776
The atmospheric anomaly is one of the few reasons making atmospherics better is actually useful in most rounds. In other rounds, any atmospherics problems sprout from atmos anyways, making doing anything but changing the pumps to volume pointless.
