Not sure why we don't have one of these anymore.

I'll start: What are some good uses for the camera bug?

How do chaplains give their bibles custom names?
Also, will goliaths stop attacking you if you go to sleep? They stop attacking when you go into crit and fall unconscious, so...

Camera bug in theory is good if you wanna stalk a certain area. Such as placing a bomb in there and waiting until a certain person comes in.

I have to check if it still works but from what I can recall you can modify a camera bug to be able to track individual people, so in theory you can more effectively find a target.

how do you load the technological shell? can't figure out how/what actually goes in it. its one of the new shells from RnD you can research.

Nobody reads changelogs. Its listed back a month or so ago. There's 3 kinds of cells each made by printing a blank cell and putting it on a table with the other parts required. You activate table crafting by click-dragging the table toward you and then pressing the button for the shell type on the menu. This is how it works in theory. In reality, the shells require twice the materials to make that the changelog says they do before the tablecrafting menu will notice them and allow you to craft the shell.

I can't tel if this is a table crafting bug or a shells bug yet so I haven't been able to file a proper bug report.

Ketchup packs. How the hell do you use them in chef recipes?

The default bug only lets you view the camera you use it on. You can add a device to the bug to enable other options, such as the tracking thing:
  • Add a radio or a remote signaller to instantly bug every single camera. There's almost no reason to not do this if you don't want the other options, even though the camera list you get on activation was unsorted and in NanoUI last I checked.
  • Add an igniter, infrared thingy, or subspace amplifier to make it able to temporarily EMP the connected camera.
  • Add an analyzer or subspace analyzer to make it check all currently bugged cameras (supposedly this also works on cameras bugged by other people). This is completely obsolete while the first option exists.
  • Add a detective scanner, pAI card, or scanning module to turn it into an "advanced bug", probably so you can track people (haven't tried this myself yet).
Rhisereld wrote:Ketchup packs. How the hell do you use them in chef recipes?
You don't, they're meant for the consumers to use on their food. You can grind them up and ChemMaster them into a condiment bottle instead for much easier recipe usage.

What's the rifle stock you can make with wood used for?

Were IEDs removed?

What is the purpose of igniters?

Creating tommy guns, I believe. Weren't they exclusive to NTStation?

No.

Igniting things, serving as a component in several assemblies.

IEDs were either removed, changed or they're broken because the old method to do it (and the one on the wiki) does not work anymore.

They aren't the mini-explosives they used to be. Now they're more akin to a molotov cocktail.

Can you still refill medipens? All of the medipens seem to be renamed 'inaprovaline medipen' and I can't fill them with robust dexalin+/DD mixtures anymore!

Or zombie powder.

Steal the hypospray.

Re: Simple Questions Thread

Posted: Thu Nov 06, 2014 10:04 pm
by Raven776
I always roll CMO anyways. I just like making a bunch of medipens for the MDs to use when I'm not busy.

But if it's something that was never intended and not wanted, I might as well be suggesting that every MD get a hypospray so I can get laughed at by everyone unanimously.

Another question: How do you ACTUALLY extract carpotoxin? Do you filet the fish and then grind them up? I've tried sticking them into a grinder whole, using a syringe, and other stuff like that, but I've never actually done it.

Another question: How many points of health does DD and tricord heal? Do they both 'digest' at the same rate (do all chems digest at the same rate?)? And do the chems heal more if you're injured evenly over your whole body (as in, do they heal 1 point of damage per tick per body part or something like that) or do they heal overall damage and the allocation of damage to bodypart is random?

These are things I should know and probably have at some point, but I can't remember the exact numbers or specifications and it bothers me.

Another question: Can you inject beepsky smash? How much of it do you need to actually stun? How much of it do you need to make it stun until chloral takes effect? Is beepsky smash more effective as an injection or as a spray? How much units of chloral do you need in a spray to make that effective?

Another question: Why do polyacid grenades just obliterate everything when a polyacid spray is okay at best? I've unloaded a polyacid spray onto a bunch of people before and they just lost their hats and shrugged it off. An equal amount shoved into a smoke grenade seems to murder in moments and proc the damage eight times a second.

Smoke has this hillarious duping effect where it replicates the reagents in the grenade into every tile the smoke fills. So you're not producing one "puff" of acid you're produing one puff of acid per smoke effect. This is also why plasmasmoke is silly as fuck.

So is it more effective to fill a smoke grenade with more smoke reagents or more intended received reagents? Does more smoke make more clouds or would the reagents used create more potent smoke and thus be better?

Fix up IED's so they work correctly when tablecrafted. Also remove their manual crafting.

I suppose it depends on your payload. Polyacid is effective at doses of 10u so you could theoretically get away with only putting 10u of it into your smokebomb and load the rest with lube or whatever other horrible bullshit you think the world needs to enjoy a lot of.

They're not supposed to be used in recipes, you can use them on all food items to add the reagents in them to said item. You can make more with the condimaster e.g. you can make easy poison packs if you want to.

It's a reskin skin of the energy sword in the shape of a pirate cutlass. Same damage but sort of a pinkish blade color, only found in artifact rooms with wooden floors.

Defibs. How do? I've revived someone ONCE with them, and that was after I killed them moments prior.

Obviously you need to pack them up with chems or else they'll slip into death really quickly again, but how long can they be dead before you can revive them? What damage can they be at?

DEFIBS!? HOW DO!?

Re: Simple Questions Thread

Posted: Sat Nov 15, 2014 3:29 am
by Ergovisavi
How to defib:
They must have LESS than 180 Burn damage, LESS than 180 brute damage, (They can have 179 brute and 179 burn and still be resuscitated) it must not have been more than three minutes since they last died. There are specific messages for each of these scenarios.

They must ALSO be in their bodies. If you do not get a failure message, but they don't revive, they're probably not in their bodies. Try again.

Use your health scanner on them before defibbing them, check their time of death and damage amounts and see if its worth even trying.

If you find a viable candidate, jab them with an inapprovaline medipen (Chems can be injected into corpses, but don't start processing until they're alive again), then defib them. Once they're in crit, hit them with bruise packs / ointment / antitoxin and start using CPR. Dexalin Plus can also be really helpful here, if you have a chemist that isn't complete shit.

You get a generic failure message if they're not in their bodies but also don't revive. I should really write a wiki guide on how 2 defib, but I so cannot into wiki.

Is there any significant difference between glass tables and regular tables other then shattering? Like, would tabling someone on it cause a higher stun/brute damage when it breaks?
