I will be hosting the 2018 Winter Ball this year. The Summer Ball was an amazing success and obviously we're here to please so I'm hopeful that we can have another good event this year.

What is the Winter/Summer Ball
The Ball Roleplay oriented event where people get together to have some fun and actually enjoy being in the presence of other people. People are invited but not expected to find a date for the ball and they should expect a whole lot of chaos and crazy things to happen. Otherwise, it's just like high school prom all over again but this time you can ask people out from the comfort of you room!

When will it be?
The ball is expected to be the 15th of December, 5:00 PM EST, but this is tentative. It may be moved around depending on my commitments since I will be taking exams that Monday for my Master's degree.

Where will it be?
This is tentative, but it will likely be on the EVENT HALL SERVER. You will receive more information about this soon.

What is expected when I attend?
Nobody is going to be a traitor during the ball. If you murder people, expect to get banned. The ball originally was supposed to take place outside of a round, but this will be its own thing. So if you connect at that time, the only thing that will be going on in the server is just the ball.

Will you go out with me?
Nope! I already have a date. But feel free to ask anyone else. The quicker the better!

How can I help out?
These events come from the community and it's the community that makes these events all the better. I am looking for a few things in particular:

!Mappers for the Ball!
We had a ton of success last time with the tool boxing event with mapping and I want to do it again. If you have any experience in mapping, please contact me directly at the /tg/ discord at @CitrusGender⁽ʷᵃᵗᶜʰ ᵘʳˢᵉᶫᶠ ᵈᵘᵈᵉ⁾#0366. If you contribute, you'll get a fancy rank for the duration of the event and access to our mapping channel for planning. Please just note that we're on a bit of a timeline.

Dedicated admins during the ball
We need around 5 admins (sorry players) to only take ahelps and probably forgo spawning in during the ball. It's extremely chaotic, we had 100 ahelps last time during the last ball and about the same during the toolboxing event. It's safe to say that our admins are some of the most valuable assets during these events and having dedicated admins to cover the event are a godsend.

Security during the ball
If you're a player with a good note history, feel free to ask any of our admins to fit you out in security gear for the duration of the event. We'd appreciate people who maintain order during the ball and it helped a lot last time.

As a side note: If you're an admin, the winter ball doesn't interest you but you're still reading this thread for some reason, and you still want to help. The other servers will specifically need admins during the event as well, as most of us will probably be on the event server. I/other people can be logged onto both but the event server is going to be really busy and probably occupy most of our attention.

I have been semi-maining SEC lately and have tried to not be shit-sec as best I can. I'd like to apply to be security for the event if the admins will have me.

There's 4 categories you could fit in:
1. Admins don't like you
Let's say you're a good sec player however you're seen as an ass or just not liked. That means your chances of being sec at this event are probably low ONLY if you're known as a good sec player. If not then it's impossible. Good luck.
2. You aren't known at all
No one knows who you are, you have no notes, and you may or may not be new. Your chances of being sec at this event are probably low.
My outlook was too cynical. Someone who registered only a few minutes before asking to sign up was made as sec. I'd say this is the most fair chance with no bias, though.
3. Admins like you
Your chances are high with exceptions (bad sec history, not good at sec, the admin who is making people sec doesn't like/know you, etc) aside.
4. You're friends with admeme
Your chances are probably insanely high with exceptions aside.

Now being sec only because you're liked isn't a bad thing. I know that I would rather pick someone I like rather than john 'unknown' johnson if they had to do something that I don't want abused or fucked up. It also doesn't mean Shezza is wrong in that case.

Mainly not being a bad shitter when playing sec.

Good note history is kinda subjective but if you're low on bad escalation notes and have less than like 5 bad notes and like less than 1-2 really bad ones: you'd possibly be okay?

It's a bit subjective. Looking at your notes: you'll be fine.

Thanks coach. Wasn't sure if stuff my stuff from over a year ago factored that much into it or not.

just so you know: notes that are older than 6 months ago are "faded" ingame and unless it was something that you really shouldn't forget or something really really bad, we don't care that much about old notes.

Take it from me. My first note on /tg/ is about how I threw bombs at sec and Bridge because I accidentally clicked bagel instead of hippie station.

It's pretty bad. (But the servers are pretty much the same mechanically)

I have been playing a couple years on the tg family of servers. I only registered to ask to be sec for the event.
