There are arguments to be made for foursided windows, but they're really minor. At the end if the day it's pretty much an aesthetic change. Changing over requires a bunch of mapping, so plenty of codebases don't bother.

The only advantage I see to four-sided windows over full-tile is that four-sided ones are marginally less likely to breach from space dust.

Full-tile is easier to repair and easier to make and doesn't need you to play the window Macarena to get out

Which FUCKING RETARD made it so clicking a grille with glass makes a full fucking window? a full window is easy as fuck to make by just cutting the grille and making both on the same tile, but the same can't be said for the other shit.
