/tg/Station 13

So, guys. What was your first ever SS13 round like?

Mine was basically, join up as generic assistant for the first time ever without knowing what to do.(As a note, there wasn't really a wiki since no one would speak of the one which teeeechnically existed, and if someone shared secrets in OOC they would be banned. Secrets including making e-chairs, hacking airlocks...knowing there was a revolver hidden on the outside of the station under grille)

So I meet up with one of the only other 2 people on the station, since it was 2006 and SS13 was virtually dead. He teaches me some things like breaking into engineering from medbay and other basic stuff. Eventually we end up in escape, he tells me to be careful not to go into space. And I walk out the escape airlock since I thought space wouldn't hurt me.

I hardly talked, but when I did I think it was through M. I know I was metacomming with friends, so once I figured out how to move and click, I beat my friend to death and then beat myself to death.

The next round I just kept drinking shit in bar and attacking people.

I was a cargo technician. I spent most of the round trying to figure out how to talk on comms, and had a really hard time figuring out why I couldn't talk on it. Turns out someone blew up comms. I also spent most of that round trying to figure out how to fix the halfway completed light fixture in Meta's cargo warehouse.

My first round was on Goon. I was an assistant who walked around maint while trying to figure out how hands worked. I died to a spider bite, and was left to rot in the main hallways. Some doctor tried to clone me but I was too much of a newb to put my ghost into the cloning pod. Poor doctor apologized to me, even though it was my fault, not theirs.

My first round on /tg/station was probably as a janitor, I think. I sort of meandered around tried to fill buckets with water and slowly clean the hallways, carefully placing wet floor signs and mopping every tile. After that I played a chef, who was so hopelessly bad at cooking food that an admin spawned a ton of pizzas on the bar floor. They probably saw that I was a newbie trying his hardest to learn and didn't want random Johns breaking into the kitchen and messing things up.

Man, those were magical rounds.

I was a chemist and I injected people with heparin and krokodil for no reason then got chemist banned.

It was on goon. I picked bartender for a midround join. Walked out into the bar and it was completely full of mice. I tried getting rid of them but there was way too many. I remember everything bursting into flames but I don't really remember why. I remember running away on fire, going into crit, and then slowly burning to death. The clown came over and extinguished me, then dragged me to medbay and got me healed back to full health. I think I got killed by a wizard after that but I don't really remember. I was majorly confused throughout the whole thing.

My actual first was like a decade ago, I played for about 15 minutes in extreme lag then didn't touch it again until a year ago.
My first round after that was probably goon. I joined as janitor and almost immediately got knocked out and dragged into maint to get absorbed by a ling mime.

I can't remember which server it was on but it was wayyy back in 2011 on my OG account before I forgot the password. I don't remember much beyond getting turned into a monkey and going around maint beating people with a wrench. I got spaced, but I lived long enough to crawl around and break through a window, letting carp into the station but dying in the process.

I joined, came off the arrival shuttle and promptly got gunned down by a deathsquad member in what was a slide show.

Back in 2014 I was a virologist on boxstation but didn't understand anything. A xeno queen came out from a vent and tackled me then nested me. I was able to get out of the nest and then roamed through maint until I got bored and then suicided and respawned as a detective.
This was on my friends private /tg/ server though

My very first round was on goon, I remember almost nothing except getting arrested for hitting a window and while security was questioning me someone barged in and killed everyone.

After a couple chaotic rounds on goon I moved to tg, I was playing with a couple guys from another forum who introduced me to the game, I remember they were desperately trying to metacom with me but I was so immersed in the game I didn't notice the messages they were sending on the other forum, when I died I went back to check and there were like 5 messages saying GRAZYN YOU DUMB FUCK THE BORGS ARE ROGUE

They were also constantly talking to me IC in italian, fun times. They used to be pretty active at the time, then like it always happens when a veteran player introduces you to a game, they leave forever soon after and you found yourself still playing the game 7 years later

Googled how to make polyacid and melted the clowb and copped a dayban.

cant remember my first round, but first time getting antag: Rolled hop traitor, managed to get around to opening my uplink.
Dont remember what I bought, but I left my syndie uplink open while I dicked about in my office, an assistant noticed my pda beeping with my syndie ringtone from my line and they told sec. Was thrown in perma and was very clueless about how I even was found out.

Walked into maint, saw a bunch of cherry bombs, went to get one, got sucked into the tile they were on and died, not having any idea it was a breach.

Joined as an assistant, went into the giant room under construction that is now the cargo drop area on maint. Someone was making wire art and sacrificing Ian then made themselves explode. I didn't have the ability to re-open those doors and was stuck. I found some tools and tried to look up hacking and construction. I spammed a welder on a wall until I went blind, then apparently beat the girder down with the broken welder. I wandered blind into the bathrooms, then after failing to get out for about ten minutes of the bathrooms the round ended.

I'm amazed I played a second round.

Spawned in on shuttle, saw blood on floor, told sec officer walked out airlock and died 5 minutes later

it was 10 years ago now. All I know is it was on Donut station.

I slipped on poo (the hallways were coated in it) and got beat by security officers.

After spending a few days causally reading basically everything on the Wiki, I remember starting as a janitor, and spending a while learning how the hands and inventory work in the janitor closet. I checked out the janitor tablet that you start with, and joined the chat room but no one else ever did. At some point, I headed out and started cleaning. My first rounds as janitor all sorta blend together in memory. I remember making someone so upset with wet floors that they spaced my cart. I remember making someone else so upset that they filled me with throwing stars. I remember having to ahelp because I took a turn down a hallway in maintenance and was stuck between my cart and two doors I didn't have access to. I remember getting lost in the maintenance of what probably was Delta.

First round was on Box. I already knew roughly what to do since I had spent maybe hours watching Texicus, having found out about the game through him and him through uh...someone else, I forget. It was all kind of happenstance. So I walk on as an assistant and the first thing that happens is I get hit in the face with a creampie by a clown. I had no idea how to get rid of it either so I was so confused and embarrassed I just rolled with it. The clown honk'd away and a scientist pointed at me and said 'hey, chick with the creampie on her face. Use these for me'. And handed me two strange objects. I knew how to use objects in hand already so I activate both. One was just the one that spawns multiple stuff but the other was the teleporter. I got thrown into maint. He came and collected me and thanked me.

Then the shuttle arrived and I hopped on to head to Centcomm. It was just a greenshift but it was apparently pretty chill and already about an hour in anyway.

Pretty uneventful but it was a nice beginning for me. I was already kinda overwhelmed at that point but I got a nice dose of SS13 form that and found myself wanting more.

I remember answering this ahelp.

There were probably prior rounds where I wandered aimlessly and tried to open a toolbox by mashing it into my head, in the first memorable one I was a doctor. My PDA exploded and one of my colleagues patched me up and stayed with me until I got my hearing back. We headed to the bar, got some drinks to calm my nerves and just chatted.
Shortly before we evacuated he was able to kill me in a quiet corridor and stow the body in a locker. I think we were both relatively new to the game, I was impressed by how he co-opted the PDA explosion into establishing a rapport after realising that it was less than lethal.
In OOC afterwards he said he felt bad about having to finish the job once we'd gotten to know each other a bit.

My first time playing, I remember figuring out the controls and then going to the bar. I spent five minutes trying to light a cigarette before asking in OOC, where the players walked me through it. After that I just sat in the bar drinking to see how drunk my character could get. I went on a trip that week but I was pretty excited to play when I got back.

This time I joined a different server and found a blueshield officer (I think? Can't quite remember now). She taught me a ton about the game in LOOC and ICly. The next round, I got traitor. I immediately knew I was fucked because I had to maim my target's right hand or something. I grabbed a crowbar, assuming it was a good weapon (lol) and found my target and started beating the shit out of their hand. I quickly got arrested and I had to talk my way out of it (I said something to the effect of "I'm new and I wanted to give them the crowbar".) The blueshield officer from last round was there and vouched for my newness so I was let off the hook.

I then bought a mindslave implanter, knowing I'd need help, and clicked on the blueshield officer (a sec officer this round). She tased me and then dragged me to gulag, laughing her ass off all the way there. I wish I knew who that was just to show them how much my traitoring skill has improved, but I can't remember the server or the player's name.

i joined goon, got randomed into a cyborg, somebody said i was harming them, got asked by the ai why i was harming and left
i found my way here and that ended up being a mistake
