Classic traitoring tactics that need to be used more

Post by Shadowflame909 » #517967

1. The Sec Bait.

You throw a low-value traitor item somewhere, and you tell sec that you saw your target come from there. Your target must not escape alive, so you do this and convince sec that they're a traitor

If they're a shitter. You just started a very good escalation situation, which will lead to their death.

If they're good. You've just held them up for a good while if the sec is bad. They're being executed on the spot. Nice.

2. The Drugged Free-Drink. A crew-member is in the same department as you are. They're your target. You crush up a nice kill-mix into a bartender drink. Maybe the syndicate-bomb. Offer it to them, what kind of crewmember would deny a free drink from a co-worker?

3. The Swirlie.

Oh, the classic gambit of escalation. You punch them, they punch you. You bring them down and give them a swirlie.

Only this swirlie will last till they're dead, and no admin will tell you to revive them by the rules.

Don't forget identity theft. Steal your target's identity via genetics/chamo clothes and assume their role and identity like nothing's wrong.
Setting bodies on fire after you kill someone is also another good idea. The fire will damage the jumpsuit and with sufficient damage, a jumpsuit's suit sensors will break, followed by the suit itself and few people know to remember that sensors can be repaired with cable coil.
Acid in your own face. Make sure to take off your equipment before doing so and have burn healing on standby. This'll destroy your face and make you appear as unknown, speaking reveals who you really are.
EMP grenades can be easily acquired if mining even remotely exists. Simply go to either your techfab/lathe, or service's lathe (as it usually is out of the way, unwatched and barely protected), access the material storage and eject as much iron and uranium as you could ever need and then grind it up in a grinder (or the holodeck's emergency medical program's grinder if you can't find one). The metal can also be used to assemble grenade casings, any subtype of beaker 9except bluespace beakers) or bottle can be put in a grenade casing (funnily enough this includes buckets, water bottles and mortars). The medical program in the holodeck can also be used to produce bottles via the chemmaster that aren't holographic and can be placed in casings, the hoochmaster's bottles should also be capable of being used (though not condiment packets) which have 50 capacity. And if not, you can screwdriver a hoochmaster or condimaster's board to turn it into a chemmaster.
Emagging a holodeck let's you take things outside of it, including the stamina damage e-swords from the thunderdome program, make sure to take the holodeck console board with you so nobody can turn it off unexpectedly.

My preferred methods of murder:
Exsanguination - Death by blood loss, a couple of IVs hooked up to your target on s u c c mode with empty bags/beaker will drain a guy dry
Strangulation - Beat your target to near-death, take away their radio and cuff them. Then, heal them and strangle them to death until they hit 200 oxy. It's very slow but medical won't go looking for someone with 200 oxy damage and write it off as a suicide.

Multitool on e-sword for R A I N B O W mode.
You can click on a toilet to put down the lid. Clicking on them with a person you have in a strong grab will make you smash their head against the lid, dealing about 15-20 brute per click. Same with urinals.
Welders, light tubes and power cells can be sabotaged with plasma.
Books can be hollowed out with wirecutters and used to store a single object, I personally store the captain's Spare in a hollowed out book in plain sight. You can also use it to hide traitor gear if you're worried about being searched. Nobody ever checks them.
Certain hats and boots can store objects as well, like the jackboots and fedora.
You can hide items in linen baskets and toilet cisterns (after crowbarring them open).
You can dye gloves/jumpsuits with crayons/stamps in the washing machines, this also works with the chameleon stamp if, for whatever reason the jumpsuit can't be used.
Grab a cup of coffee and get an epinephrine pill/bottle from the smartvend in chemistry and mix them in a container to create Pump-up, the same chemical in the maintenance autoinjectors.
You can emag the library computer to print cult paraphenelia and cause a cult panic.
You can plant mousetrap/prox sensor-triggered bombs beneath piles of glass/rods/spears/debris so that they will act like shrapnel to whoever sets them off.
Mousetrap-triggers can be placed in oyur bag along with a bomb to act as a martydom bomb, you can avoid setting it off yourself by clicking and dragging your inventory or keeping your bag's display open.
Glowsticks can be ground up for phenol + hydrodgen and oxygen, lightbulbs for silicon and nitrogen and wood+used cigarette butts for carbon

There was a really old and really long-lasting bug that made this have no click cooldown. You could instagib people with toilets and it was really epic. Very sad it was patched

when I get caught I usually just bluff, and they almost always release me for some reason
like I found this emag in maint/my target gave it to me when I saved her life etc
also if I am with a female char I try to "seduce" my target
it worked a few times

Talking your way out of things is so rarely done and usually works. Ive turned tables on a validhunting asshole by simply hiding my traitor gear and complaining to sec that a jackass with weapons is trying to murder me. Usually gets the validhunter permad or at least put out of commission long enough for me to do what I need done, as well as taking me off the suspect list for most security officers.

I used to love being Revolver Ocelot and printing 1,000 speedloaders for the .357 and just blasting the shit out of everyone as a cargoman. Too bad they nerfed the autolathe though. (it was probably my fault).

You can inject cigs with chems to apply the chems to who ever smokes them. Healy cigs for you or leave morphine laced cigs out for people to smoke and KO themselves.

You can inject eggs with 23u of chems that splash a person if they are thrown at them. Fits in your pocket and more capacity than a regular syringe. Clothing that doesn't block splash won't protect them at all.

Disable a doors safety and rig up a remote signaller to make a crusher trap. Most people will assume the AI is rogue as you smash your target without touching them.

Unpopular opinion but I'd like to see more old school murderbone. Not the team antag or subverted AI type, just solo traitor using whatever broken mechanic we have right now to go to town and kill everything in the most efficient way. Just like that, pop pop pop and everyone around him going horizontal.

I wish I got prevent escaping alive objectives more.

Buckle cuffing to a pipe in maintenance + muzzle + blindfold + straight jacket.

Very epic.

Even better. Zombie Powder + rushing with a jetpack to bluespace capsule on another Z level. Perfecto.

I see them from time to time on Sybil. People can pretty easily contain them, but it's a good distraction tactic. Just the other night someone accidentally leaked plasma when I was playing a changeling, so I threw a flare into the hallway and ran like hell. It forces people into departments and maint where anything can happen.

Just the other day I was playing roboticist and one happened. The other robo came in to do augmentation surgery on someone, and then somehow half of robotics ended up gutted by a plasma fire. Both the other roboticist and the surgery patient reduced to ash. No idea what caused it as I was too busy fleeing and rolling on the floor screaming.

Thinking about it, the patient could've been coated in plasma, and the cautery from the surgery could've ignited it.

nowadays if a redshirt comes at me i just dab on him with one of his own stunbatons, carp, DESword, Stechkin with nigh infinite AP rounds or whatever.

One time I started an exploding cigar business and got tons of customers and admins (feds) tried busting down my door but as my business was honest and legitimate they were powerless before me. I was at the height of my power. The reach of my arm was boundless. No one dared cross me. The captain himself was hooked on my exploding cigars. And it was at this moment that I became the most powerful non antag to ever touch the station.

As an aside the greatest antag tactic to ever exist was shove an officer, run into maint, and throw soap behind you. It was the start of countless murderbones and in this age of nerfed slip stuns we must remember the glory days of 0 balance.

Now it just takes a little extra work. Slip with soap > steal shoes; run from police; slip with glass; murderbone. The stun from stepping on glass is really really long.

Empty distro completely, then steal the ai upload from tech storage and buy a hacked AI module. Then tell the AI to one by one set every single vent on the station to disable pressure checks and pump out. Then when you start the plasmaflood it'll completely torch the whole station at once.

There was one yesterday that was fucking apocalyptic. Science and Engineering were fucking wastelands.

I don't honestly see enough Clown traitors doing this. There needs to be a way to get a similar effect without it actually killing someone, just doing a teeny bit of burn damage.

I was told "just use welding fuel dumbass" once, so I did and got my arms (both) dismembered
I was then told "lol what a retard, you should have used like 5u not 50u"
you learn from your mistakes I guess

Felt real dumb but it was pretty funny.
Hear hear. Happened to me once during a chef round. Someone dropped off some cigars in exchange for some warm donk pockets. Lit one up, bam, hole in the kitchen. Got bwoinked too. "Why did you blow a hole in the kitchen?" "I dunno dude I just lit a cigar"

I kinda miss being new. There was always something amazing to discover, even if it was at my own expense half the time.

Emptying distro completely takes really long due to how big the „container“ is and if you flood like that you‘ll have an evenly distributed warm fart everywhere. Focus on key locations, you cannot flood everything without modifying atmos (at least remove the bulb in the mix tank or it‘ll burst from pressure and just burn your mix tank).

Not as hard as you may think. Turn the distro heater into a freezer, set it to as low as it hits, turn off mix to distro, switch distro to waste pump with a volume pump and turn it on. It takes time but not as long as youd think.

Turn off lighting via APC and the lightbulb won't make sparks to ignite the mix tank

The only thing you'll learn from Dornan is how to fight and fight well. He's basically one of the best fighters I've seen in the game. But he won't teach you much beyond that and how to mine and fight megafauna. And there are a few people who can do that pretty well on Sybil and likely better. The biggest thing I learned from Dornan was that extreme aggression throws people super hard. Most people like to duke and feint but honestly he just presses at people and sticks on them. Very few people have I seen do a melee only murderbone so well, and with a fireaxe no less.

Make around 10-12 meth bombs, put voice analyses devices in them. When you get arrested by sec, or your about to get killed by the crew, just say the magic word, and take them with you.

You'd be surprised how often this works. Hell, it worked in a wiz round I played a couple months ago.
