The safe in the vault

How do you even crack it open? I know you have to hear the clacking sound but how many times?

The bigger question is: Why is there a safe in a vault, when the vault is supposed to be safe?
I lurk quite often...

Trying to look it from the code, not sure about this at all, need confirmation:
1. Use stethoscope on the safe.
2. Start spinning the dial, at some point you will hear a tonk/krunk/plunk or a tink/krink/plink.
3. Spin the other direction, you will hear a clack/scrape/clank or a click/chink/clink.
4. Spin one direction again (I think) and there will be a spring/sprang/sproing/clunk/krunk and it should open!

I just tried this out in a test server and it didn't work. There must be something to it that's still relatively unknown, if known at all.

I've figured out... Something.

Grab your stethoscope and prepare for a good bout of safe cracking. When you're turning the dial and you hear the clinks, clanks, scrapes and otherwise, you're moving the tumbler inside of the safe. There are only two tumblers in the safe, and you need to force both into their correct positions in order to open it.

To figure it out, just start turning it one direction until you start to hear scraping. A turn to the left (The "-" button) will decrease the internal 'number' that the tumbler is adjusted to. A turn to the right (The "+" button) will likewise increase it. Unfortunately, this seems to be the part where it's freaking impossible to figure out; Which way do you turn? As far as I can tell it's down to luck. Here's a screenshot I took of me analyzing the safe and making the tumbler fall into position. AS SOON as I matched the number (Seen here as vars "tumbler_1_open" and "tumber_1_pos") it made a "Plunk" sound, IN ADDITION to the normal scraping. It probably makes other sounds when the tumbler hits position, as well.

As far as I can tell, if you -keep going- after this initial "-unk" sound, you can make a full cycle and actually start manipulating the second tumbler. This is the part where it gets tricky, as your window gets spammed with noises and when you near the correct position, you start hearing all sorts of plinks, scrapes and plunks.

EDIT: I sort of got it. The order you want to go in is "Right, Left, Right." Turn right until you hear a klunk, or a plunk, or a tonk. Turn left, it'll klunk and plunk, but go until you hear a clink, chink, plink. This locks the second tumbler into position. Turn right again, and you'll eventually see a bolded message of "Sproing!" or something similar. You did it!

You go +, -, +, switching when the irregular sounds of Tumbler 1, Tumbler 2, and the final unlock happen. You then get a fire axe and a bear pelt hat.

Definitively, (like has also been said in the thread) I checked over multiple rounds and it's a fire axe and a bear pelt. It's likely been changed last you got a peek inside.

Why did they change it? What's the force on a katana?

Katana does something crazy around 40-60 brute, like the claymore, which reminds me of the ministation rounds where assistants would break into the vault as soon as possible for possession of it.

You're all so wrong.
It used to be a real katana, a yellow suit, and pig mask. Real katanas are awesome. Except people would break into the vault every round and get it, because it was like an esword, but better, and free.
So it became a replica katana, which was still cool, because it was unique.
For some stupid reason the insides were changed to a bear pelt hat and a fireaxe. I don't remember when or why that was.

I thought the gold wrestling belt was in a crate in the vault with the gold? Is there really a book on cracking safes in the safe? I thought it was a shitty katana or something. I could just look in the code but I’m at grandma’s house greasing the stairs.
