I like the restaurant too but of course it's never used because that isn't how the game is played. You stand where the food is and eat until your character is full. So the restaurant is pointless. And not that I ever see it used in the first place but don't talk to me about roleplay purposes it may serve because roleplay that isn't facilitated by gameplay is usually wankery that should be discouraged.

Also the medbay is like a confusing isle of shit where you're not sure where the hallway is or where you are relative to everything else. I went AFK and found myself there feeling in another world. It needs a sense of flow rather than room clumps.

we need more silly seemingly pointless, but crafted environments. one of the things ss13 does better than any other game imo is encouraging clever use of the environment around you in a realistic manner, there's a lot of flavor and story material to be had about fighting in a restaurant and smashing someones head on a nearby table or whatever

I think the anger came first. In a perfect world, the station wouldn't have rooms that suggest a function the game doesn't have. And yeah, you can roleplay it, but I don't like playing pretend and it'd be better if there were gameplay that roleplay naturally arose from. "Eating food gameplay?", you might ask, appealing to ridicule. No, restaurant gameplay. When I code it. Which I won't.
